Under rating threshold (show) For the cipher text, excel with CODE and CHAR functions makes life a lot quicker than doing them by hand--and I bet google spreadsheets has those functions as well. Great game, well-executed. Probably not as difficult for us kids that grew up in the days of command prompts (probably the easiest "hard" kong badge I've earned), but fun nostalgia.

Under rating threshold (show) shadow, the command is ls, that is the letters L and S, not 1s. that's probably your problem there.

Under rating threshold (show) It's funny, because in my security class we're learning Linux and all the commands from this game are pretty much word for word the same as they are in Linux.

Under rating threshold (show) This game reminds me a lot of hackRUN! Really love these kinds of games. Could you maybe add an additional note function so that we could record passwords/ bits of information (4's change to 0's) so that we won't have to keep moving back and forth to remember? Other than that, a really great game! Keep it up! :)

Under rating threshold (show) Fantastic game that necessitates the practice of critical thinking beyond the ordinary constraints of linear approaches. One has to be able to think sequentially, but on multiple layers simultaneously. All in all, a pleasant and enjoyable experience. My only gripe is that some of the legs of the journey required contact with information outside of the game, but that is nothing more than a matter of research tedium.

Under rating threshold (show) Very well done! Hopefully part 2 will be just as good. I do not know what you do for a day job, but games like this can help students learn the basics of programming and logic. You might consider shopping this to the local junior highs as a primer for computer classes. You might even make a little money from it. Good luck

Under rating threshold (show) Idk why but I was so anxious/scared when I played this game, it must have been something to do with not knowing what would happen next/constantly thinking that something scary would happen. But all in all, excellent game that made me think. 5/5

Under rating threshold (show) Highly, highly enjoyable game because of the thought that went into the story behind it. The game is fraught with spelling, usage, and style problems in the text, but the great story made these easy to forgive. The game play was pure nostalgia for anyone who used computers before everything had a GUI in front of it. Yes, there were anachronisms if this was supposed to reflect a computing environment in the sixties, but the good outweighed the bad here. My one complaint was the Chicago Tribune puzzle was not a puzzle. It was a homework assignment. I expect solutions to be achievable solely in-game, and I think that was a design misstep -- or else you weren't as explicit about it up front as you should have been. I'm looking forward to the next installment to see where the door goes. Keep the ideas flowing!

Under rating threshold (show) One small problem in an otherwise great game (5/5 from me): SPOILER: I managed to convince myself early on that the method for getting the TV brand couldn't possibly work, because the commands I was using here (namely, sudo) didn't exist at the dates given in the emails. ...I mean, sure, neither did AIs, but there's a meta-rule in writing that you have to advertise the rules you're breaking a la Chekov's gun. ...It impresses me greatly that it took me *this* much before I was willing to declare this a problem. (And I got it anyway, after all.)

Under rating threshold (show) Great game, started to remind me about my old commodore I had. DOS prompts and what not. The first time you open this game up you are unsure if it opened correctly or not, but then you figure it out and get 1 answer right. Then after that you start to question if you should be playing this game, but then you get another page right and you get sucked in so much that you have to finish the game to see the end. I love games like this.

Under rating threshold (show) This is the most fun I've had playing any of the puzzle games here. I love how many resources you have to depend upon in order to solve all of the puzzles. I'd be more specific, but anyone who's finished the game knows what I mean. Now on to deciphering those runes...
