He turns before right before the exit of the underworld, and Orpehus sees the wisp of his wife for only an instant.
When I first got to this game I thought it was cool. Once the wife started to follow me I immediately recognized the story.

Much better than I expected it to be - and a good balance of not too easy, but also not hair-tearingly hard. A good reminder of the early gaming era too - 5/5 :)

This could've been made quite a bit more challenging in regards to badges. The unlimited death count made it pretty easy. Would've been neat to see like a t be choosers though.
Simple flash, simple concept, but I enjoyed it for what it was worth. I liked the music. That was a definite plus. Overall, 4/5.

LOVE the game and the music. The final boos battle I saw him and had to play Famous Last Words so... Nice game, A lil hard in place but still fun. There's something to be said for the simple graphics too, not sure what but I like em! =)

Very nice job, but you missed something, there is much more than just Cerberus and Ravine guarding the gates to hell, there are multiple stronger ones that you would have to do off with if you wanted to return a soul to this world--Do your research next time.
Overall though, very nice job. A cute and shallow, yet deep, open storyline which really made me think of someone I once knew ^^
5/5 and teh Kongregate Kudos for excellence in 16-bit!

Orpheus was the son of the Muse Calliope and therefore a grand musician. His wife was a dryad, Eurydice, who also attracted the attentions of Aristaeus. Aristaeus pursued her until she stepped on a poisonous snake and was forced into the Underworld. Orpheus was determined to retrieve his beloved. He journeyed down to the underworld, first charming Charon, ferryman of the dead, and lulling to sleep Cerberus, the three-headed watchdog. He encountered Hades, who initially refused to release Eurydice, but Orpheus's music so touched Persephone that she pleaded Orpheus's case, and Hades relented. There was one condition: that Orpheus not look back on their way out. Of course, Orpheus was worried that Eurydice was not behind him, and he fatefully glanced back to see if she was following him. She disappeared back into Hades, and he lost her forever. KEEP IT GOING

i have to say that ending surprised me (i know some mythology but not that one) but i really liked it. to me this game seems more like a piece of art than just a simple platformer, solely because of that last scene. 5/5

I like the reference to greek mythology.
I don't quite understand the ending, and I don't like ganon's explanation... Cause your physical body went down there.

This game perfectly captures the trial-and-error grind of old school platformers without subjecting you to the agonizing task of getting it all perfect in 3 lives/continues/etc. Killer style and atmosphere too. Awesome job.

good game 5/5 its funny cause i completely understand the storyline i love Greek stories. the ending was perfect but the original ending to this story wasn't happy so you should have fixed that. make more games like this though i love it.
