My only complaint about the game is the spirals. They seem to need too precise timing. If you aren't expecting them, there is no chance you can recover and you crash and burn...

I can't be the only one that's noticed that the seconds are counted as ss:xx where xx is a number of 60ths of a second...

At first I was going to comment that someone's ripping off Terry Cavangh's Super Hexagon, his critcally acclaimed IOS game (see http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2012/09/super-hexagon/). Then I noticed who published this game. : )
Pretty cool to have access to what I'm sure was a proof of concept build for that project!

Thanks for the nice game, Terry. 109 seconds is my record after a hour of playing. Took me a while to learn all the patterns and now i can autopilot through the maze while thinking about life and the universe.
The human brain is faszinating, how easiely it can figure out the weirdest type of movement. I constantly keep thinking about while playing hexagon how movement is the reason life evolved brains in the first place and not all the other fancy shinanigans we use it for nowadays.
btw I played at a distance a year ago with a friend and would also love to see you develop deeper in that direction.

I played the first 15 mins without sound and it was a mess. I reached 30 secs maximum this way. After i've put headphones on, it was way easier to find the rhythm and get a feeling what is coming towards you. Hard badge took another 15 mins - Done xD

About the "artificial difficulty"... another factor seems to be the RNG, or random number generator. Each wave sent to you is completely random, so you can either be lucky and get nothing too difficult for the first 35 seconds or so, or you can luck out and have one difficult wave coming right after another and so on for the first 15 seconds.

The community rating for this game is criminally low. Yeah, it's hard - it rewards repeat play. It's actually focusing on mastery. Considering that sessions take seconds to play, I think there's something beautiful in its purity.

Also I find it kinda funny some of you guys complaining about "artificial difficulty" cause by "overshooting the mark"
Seriously, whatever happened to the NORMAL difficulty that comes from, oh I don't know, MOTOR CONTROL?!
All your complaints mean is that a) you're too lazy to put in the time it takes to get good (i.e. five or so minutes, sheesh) and/or b) you have cerebral palsy, in which case that sucks. D:

I can manage about 15 seconds before getting too dizzy to continue and then slamming into a wall. Seriously, can't the camera hold still just for a moment? I don't mind the spinning, but the random flailing back and forth is really just adding to the fake difficulty.
