Building: thousands of dollars, attracts a few more people
Newspaper add: 50 dollars or so, "New town, Aurumville, wants residents! Careless mining methods means gold ore sprayed everywhere, inhabitants allowed to pick some up! Free refinement!", attracts THOUSANDS.

Yup, nothing says "come live in my beautifully constructed town" like turning the whole area into the surface of the moon. The games a decent time-waster, but a little "meh" for my tastes. Of course, Kongregate still kicks azz.

When able to, just use bombs in the collection zones. You'll get less great stuff but if you use big bombs you can more than make up for it with 20+ tons per round.

i make thousand of dollars with gold but i cant afford to get rid of some freaking trees... or am i bombing in a protected area? :P

2 reasons I didn't get it in 75 days: I didn't realize that two of the same building didn't stack, and after around day 30 (I had nukes by 20 or so) everywhere I mined was bad, so I had to rely on town income o.o

TIP: besides buiIding diverse cIusters of buiIdings, make sure you *coIIect aII the ore* each round (which makes the round auto-end). the amount of ore matters Iess than if you coIIect it aII, so just use one sm. bomb after your city is earning you enough to get by w/out ore. this gives you a big growth boost and you wiII see +100 days before Iong.

Things I'd like to be able to purchase:
1: A spotter, who would ride on top of the truck and point out the nearest ore. Could just be a little red or green arrow that swings around the actual truck, or could be a pointer in the corner of the screen, I don't care. Can't count how many days I ended up running out of gas because I kept driving through town trying to find the last bit of uncollected ore.
2: Wheelbarrow men. This could be a scaled purchase, say from 1-5, or even 1-10, each of which would increase the "magnet range" of the truck (say, by 10% each guy). The only thing more frustrating that a bit of ore hidden behind a house is one stuck in the middle of a copse of trees.
3: I haven't gotten all of the buildings yet, but if there's not a 'clear-cut zone' purchase available, there SHOULD be. Would happily pay a reasonable fee to clear a 3x3 square of all trees.

I would have different types of workers instead of a truck. It would be cool to manage payroll for a staff and meet certain business objectives. The population should grow into the workers who aid the business. Speed up time for explosions. I would even add an element of Sim City for example with crime rates, and other stats to manage. Great game but needs some additional mods.

Lol I like the tip that says "You can blow up parts of the town, the people will understand" I care more about gold then their lives XD

Dunno what everyone else was doing, but I reached boomtown status within 65 days. It's really important to maintain your town and to build multiple epicenters. I had large sprawling areas on both sides of the map. Every time you get a new building, sprinkle it among your existing areas, and put a lot of emphasis on growth and population buildings (town halls, churches, sheriffs offices, etc). I tried to avoid being redundant...if I made a new town hall, I'd build it outside the influence of any others. I got gold on all the challenges this way.

@XveganX ...They do transform into other types of housing. They evolve from campsites w/ tents to huts to multi-storied buildings as there's more population density.

I really like the concept, and it's fun, but there's absolutely no strategy to this. Just throw bombs on the good spot, gold flies out, pick it up, buy things. Needs to me more complicated and definitely more challenging. Very easy.

It would be nice if we had a radar that tracks the biggest piece of gold, so we can find those pieces that fly out really far.

It would be great to know what the bombs do before i buy then so I know if I'm wasting my money or getting rich from buying them

@ finalmike You must be doing something wrong then because im getting 100+ population at only day 74, at 1800 pop so far.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
To keep population growth fast you need to keep mining. If you fire off just a few bombs next to the drop zone you can quickly mine a little stuff and keep your growth at around 30/day. If you stop mining and try to speed through the days it drops right down to 5/day or even less.
Even so, growth is FAR too slow - it took me 162 game days to reach 2,500. When you compare it to the other medium badge it's laughable that they're the same value. Growth Spurt should be a hard badge just for the boredom factor required to grind it out to 2,500 population.

So, we have all the upgrades, plots and the best buildings all over the map, and still we have only finished about a fifth of the game!? that's just stupid, i ended up going in and out of days without buying explosives or anything and it took me an additional 30 mins to get the achievment after i had gotten everything else...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
What do I exactly enefit from buying more expensive explosives? I don't get it. they don't seem to get more more gold nor dothey blow up a larger area.

Playing for 116 days, maxed out everything except buildings (when do they become available) and peppered the whole map with schools banks and town centers. Still only 1240 pop at 16/day growth. 3/5 and i am tempted to go with 2
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Sallu09 I dont have that problem because my town gives me 2000 dollar per day, so, if i dont have money i just skip the day . . . if you dont have a town, then start again
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
be nice if you added a road more organized then for each turn theres population growth you have to place houses at places to your liking rather then randomly also turning on/off are of effect for each building would be nice(color coded different for each building) *suggestions i still love this game nonetheless
