great game, but it definitely needs a more robust save routine. I've had to restart twice now from the beginning, and I've never hit the R button. The first time the browser closed while I was playing, erased my progress... The second time, I hit escape to go to the main menu and look for a save. I was able to go back into the game and resume where I left off, so I thought it was saved. Close the browser and come back, and I'm starting over AGAIN. Please tell me you aren't requiring me to finish the game in one playthrough, because I can't for the life of me figure out how to save the game... You should save every so often, or give us a manual method of saving.
Well, you see, I guess that's where I'm a bit confused. The game literally saves as you're playing--if you kill an enemy and it's supposed to save, it saves it as soon as he dies. If you pick up the sword, it saves as soon as you touch it. The game is saving everything dynamically, and it honestly doesn't even work if there's no save file to direct to. These values, like when you go to swing a sword and it sees if you actually have the sword, are based entirely on the save (there's not even a local variable to reference). Which is why I don't really know what to tell you other than that I think it's your browser settings; I've never had an issue with the saving on any site in any browser, and any complaints are things I haven't been able to reproduce because of this :( Also, a manual save wouldn't really work with this, since it would have already saved everything that it needs to save by the time you would try to manually save it.

I love this game! Very cool! Def reminds me of the good old days of zelda on the gameboy/nes. Only beef is that controls are a bit awkward, but other than that, a def 5 star. Great detail!

Death by water is not a so pleasant death. Why make us replay the level when we hit the water? Just prevent the character from walking on water (low level characters at least). The game is also way too dark! Even when i shift my monitor by (in a console: xgamma -gamma pct) "detail" is still lost. Last but not least, as already requested, a map would be very much appreciated. I really like what you've done so far but those are somehow critical issues.

You should probably bind R to the title menu with double confirmation request, rather than making it possible to hit it and lose all progress at any time.
R is bonded to the menu. When you press it, you go to the menu and then have to confirm with <Y> that you want to delete the save, otherwise you can just go back into your level by pressing any other button.

i really do love this game but a map would make this game alot better. Also i love how you have 2 endings and your storyline is very classic and simple like all the good ol games =] 5/5 from me would love to see badges

4/5, lacking some key features (that have already been mentioned), and I've always preferred originality to tributes.

My only complaint so far is that it is way way too dark at night in this game. I literally had to squint to see anything.

I even used te walkthrough, but when i got to the part where there was lava everywhere and the path was(and i quaote the walkthrough!) "not complicated, its just needs good timing", I simply couldn't get through
i either as too slow to get past teh hammer, or i ran to fast and fell into teh lava!...5/5 and fave, it reminds me of zelda a link to the past ALOT, so i feel a strong desire to beat it, as i did wtih zelda...good job dude, Like the lighting, the music, the graphics, the story line, everything
(except that its a bit to hard for me! xD)

@TimeBlog:
It's alright, I didn't really ragequit forever, I was just mad. I needed time to cool down, and now I'm calm. I love these kinds of classic zelda-like games, and since I haven't seen one in a while, this game was a welcome sight to me. Definitely 5/5.

Cannot open inventory after getting the wand, consequently I can't even fight the boss and am stuck in the room. I noticed that V & I stopped working when I entered the 'castle.' Too frustrated to restart the whole game on the off chance it'll work again.

5/5 for gameplay, but the whole "morality" thing doesn't exactly fly when the Watcher doesn't bother to say anything until after you've killed off everything. If the Watcher wasn't a douche, he would have stopped the main character before Shieldspire.

Is there no way to fight the monster frozen outside of The Owl's lair? I figured killing it would be a part of the second ending after collecting all of the treasure shards, but no. Awesome game, A+. I would love to see more work like this from you.

ok, completely leaving the game (left to play something else) and coming back fixed the inventory not working. I've played through to one ending (the easy way!), and really enjoyed it. Now to find the fragments and try to win that way... I swear I've looked everywhere, but still need to find 2 more!

I came back the next day, fixed the inventory bug by just re-opening the game. Persevered and finished the game with good ending, well worth it. 5/5, even without a map.

am I missing something or do you have to do everything perfectly in the right order? atm, i'm stuck without the green key and no ability to reach the green key -_-

hahaha I have made a liar out of the watcher by NOT killing the lights which then justifies my killing of him since he is obviously ill and needs to be put out of his misery ;P
I tried recreating this bug, but I'm having trouble. Do you know when it stopped working? Did you ever quit to the menu while getting an item or something?
*SPOILER* you want to stand in front of him and wait until he goes to attack--there's a brief point where he moves his shield before hitting you, and you want to attack then.

don't know about this one, but on the armorgames version there's a bug where you can't open the inventory once you pick up the first pillar piece & then you can't equip the wand
I just went to AG and played through until I picked up the first pillar piece, and I didn't have any problems opening up the inventory. Is there anything else that I might be missing?
