Lol. I figured out how to LOAD A SAVE. When you start the game again, just open Codex, and select LOAD. Voila! Game is loaded from where you played last time.

Wow, controls are a bit shite, aren't they? Conjstantly missing platforms by overshooting them because I have almost no control over my horizontal movement.

But as for things that AREN'T as bad as you think they are -- the slippy ice controls get better as you level up running. That's supposed to be an annoying thing that is less annoying as you go on. When you lose all your stats at the end of the first day, you don't actually lose ALL your stats -- most importantly, you keep your "Learning" stat, meaning that you level your stats up much, much faster on subsequent days. And so, on the second night and beyond, when you've got actual decent skills, you CAN defeat the shadow and keep your skills. I can usually beat the game on the second or third day, having only had to beat the shadow once or twice.

A couple comments on a lot of the most annoying things in this game -- I do enjoy it, but it's got some weaknesses. But also some things that look like weaknesses that aren't, as much. The bugginess of the codex interface is the biggest one -- closing it seems to involve some random combination of hitting escape, space, x, and c, but I'm never sure exactly WHAT combination. Still, if I hit them enough, it works eventually. Mostly. The lack of a working save function is also annoying, since it means you have to play the entire thing in one sitting.

I got a code from completing the game that I presume is supposed to allow some to start from a certain point, that code being: 10-00-02-2D-24-0C-C1-B6-C0-88-1C-A8-82-F7-03-D8
Unfortunately, everytime I go into the codex and select Load the game locks up... seems to be a broken feature to me

@daexion, you keep your gems and the skills stored in the codec... I recommend you collect enough gems on a prior day to raise your relation to 5 and do the same with all the other relevant skills. The stand in front of the big PC and scan yourself for a game win

Oh, the BotD is the Complete the Game badge. Hard Pass considering you start from scratch every single time the day starts over, and I don't have the inclination to spend hours trying to finish the game.

I love games that just black screen when they load up.. especially when it happens on a badge day. one star amd reported

This reminds me why I dislike (1) platformers with touchy controls and (2) storylines that force words and feelings on *my* character.

Real annoying that the hint signs become unusable when you walk over them, especially when the text for them become hidden because some other text appeared, or you didn't get a chance to read it all because the Newgrounds logo is covering it.

You can't complete the game unless you have all your stats maxed at 5 then talk to the computer, if their not at the right level you can't use the computer again and won't be able to finish the game.

This games sux for lack of instructions, took me the longest time to realize for some reason the dream boss drops black gems I can hardly see to collect for the win. As to how to get the black gems to drop I have no idea how its just completely random. 2 stars for a game that could be better

The initial dialog automatically loses 2 stars. It's a game, not a novella. The way she "slides" when stopping, another 1 star. Fine game, otherwise. I do like how you increase your skills by using them - that's an underused strategy. 3/5

Despite everyone saying that it is a great game, 5/5, best game eva and downvoting people with negative opinions, I find myself conflicted. Story is nice, the game is a roaming roguelike, side characters are funny and the development is linear. However controls are slippery and strange (left, right, x, c for the menu/pause not even said in game). The shadow is also a "what am I supposed to do?" and the first times you are bound to die and lose all the progress. Moreover it HAS to be beaten to achieve 100% completion, hence I don't approve the medium badge associated. Lastly, how do you end the game? You have no idea and even talking to everybody you have no info on it. The only hint is that a giant computer will repair your memories once you are enough "levelled up".
Since I don't like roaming around aimlessly for tons of time and doing trial and error with the keyboard to find the controls (menu being c was the best surprise), I give it a 3/5!
