I've got a problem with this very nice game :(
Is it possible to save my progress in game? Maybe I'm wrong in something
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Are you going to make Kanji warrior next? :D I learned kana quite easily but it could never learn kanji except some basic ones.

Stage 11 is drastically more challenging than the previous ones. Separating it into two would make it easier and more consistent with the difficulty of the previous stages.

Somehow my progress wasn't saved between sessions, even though I was signed in and I have the stage 4 achievement. Oh well.

This is a really neat learning game! I really like all the possible options for different learners, and the different game types.

Awesome game! Too bad I didn't find it earlier :(. Btw do you have an ETA for the kanji game you're making? how many kanji will it feature? A shame I already learned most (around 1500), but a little dusting off wouldn't hurt. Keep up the good work! You're helping lots of ppl. :P

Pretty cool, if someone just started learning japanese it can actually help them. It wasn't that challenging for me because I've been learning japanese for 6 years...btw great game, I'd like to see a kanji version of this :)

Well I stand corrected. My Windows 10 computer with Firefox will not play the game but Windows 8 tablet with Firefox will play the game. Cheers for the education. ♥

I thought I had to wait for the men to line up with the line for perfect, and I couldn't figure out exactly where to line them up to get perfect. Took until stage 4 to realize my mistake.. Shoot them as soon as possible :D :D

this game doesn't seem to work on Firefox. I have typed the letters and pressed space/enter. It just doesn't work. Tried it on Chrome, and it works fine.

i typed the characters, but it just won't register...everytime. Is this a bug or am I just not playing this right? And yes, i pressed space after it too :(

As a person who studied Japanese for four years, this is a great game and I hope people can learn something from it... I just wish this was out 5 years ago...

Cool game. I quit after the badge only because it's not my thing, but I really like how stage 4 was different. You put a neat game around learning a very different language. Good job!

I have no interest in learning Japanese and came here just for the easy badge. But, I really commend the designer for creating a fun and interactive game to learn a new language! Maybe I will come back some day with more erudite intentions; for now I'm leaving a high rating and moving on. :)

oh my god, i watch a lot of anime, and I know quite a few words and phrases verbally, but i am garbage with characters apparently
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I used to know all of these, 10 years ago. Now, the lack of practice, and a lack of people to communicate with, and most of all, writing with, must have muddled my skills in this moonspeak. I still recognize, and if I dig deep into my gray matter, remember most of them, but to bring that knowledge forth fast enough is another matter. But to my muddled brain, I say, bring it ON!

I wish that I had discovered this game back when I was taking Japanese, but it is definitely helping get some of the rust. You should do ones katakana, and maybe some kanji.

Just to let you know, I would loooove to see a kanji game. I need a way to get back into it, because... well, I was working hard on it for a long time, and I recognize about 550 now, but... Now I'm having trouble motivating myself because I feel like I've gotten behind. A grammar and vocab game would be great, too! I've been trying to study with anime, listening really closely and watching scenes over and over. I've picked up a lot, and it really helps reinforce stuff, too... But again, I haven't done it in a while, and now I'm avoiding it because I don't want to see how behind I've gotten (although I don't think I've lost much...). I feel like games would help me get back into it.

game ignores all action-related keyboard input. Escape works fine. what is supposed to happen when you type a letter (and then press space/escape/enter) ?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Can't finish reading the in-game tips because I have to type at the same time. It would be better if people can see the tips when pausing the game.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
just for the badge... 1 is pretty easy, 2 isn't bad, 3 is ROUGH (I did a lot of guessing but passed somehow), 4 is actually MUCH easier than 3
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The controls are pretty bad. The lag between typing and the letters appearing (If they appear) is terrible, even when the FPS shows 55-60.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
THIS GAME IS AWESOME!!!!!!!! I only have two recommendations: flash cards and how to pronounce the words! (I haven't played the harder levels, but I can't wait to learn some words and sentences!!! This game is my definite favorite!!)

I am slowly learning to speak a tiny bit of japanese using animes, but reading and writing, not at all.
This game isn't exactly for beginners, or at least you need some prelearning, before you can use this game any. I can't remember this stuff long enough to remember to get things right. On stage 3, I was just struggling to remember what the possible answers were so I could try them all for each character since it stops telling you the answer at the line mark by then, in case, what is the line mark for then? Stage 4 was much easier because there was only two options. So as long as you watched for whether the character changed, you can not fail twice in a row.
