I am not quite sure how I did it, but after completing abandoned house I went immediately to the "stuff" tab and equipped the reward. Then, I pressed the left arrow key, and it gave me the reward again!Only worked once though.

Pet Protector is okay, but I'm still much more engaged by the original Protector series and the Arkandian Legends games.

If you were able to import your pet protector into one of the games in the protector series that would be awesome! Depending on his/her speed, power, melee/magic skills, and etc. you could choose a class that fits your character's final stats. Like somebody with high speed could be a rogue, or a speedy archer. Somebody with smarts and magic skill could be a mage, and power/melee skill would lead to a tactician. Base stats could also (slightly) be affected by skills. Special skills (like whatshisfaces "all warriors get +5% chance to activate berserk skill) could potentially be unlocked by finding scrolls via exploring. Hopefully this wouldn't require alot of programming and different gameymajigamastuff, (yeah right) but it would be worth it.

Three things I learned from my first play through...AKA DON"T MAKE THESE MISTAKES
1.)Spent all my money upgrading the general store. It'll always be crap, Upgrading it and checking it is a waste of your time.
2.)Picking a mage. Not one item in this game gave more magical power than physical power. Huge waste of time looking for a decent staff.
3.)Explore early so you can find weak dungeons for early materials.

here is a tip for beating the game in no time...
whan you loose in a dungeon, you still can use the arrow keys to move in it, you're on the case you were when you died, stepping on a case where a monster is start a fight, you doesn't loose weeks, you don't pay dungeon's entry fees, you don't need to rest, killing a monster is permanent. repeat until dungeon is cleaned...

After years of everybody complaining that the fights are always too slow, it seems undefined finally gave up and removed fights altogether. Good job, you removed the RPG element and made the game into a full-blown time manager.
But seriously, this game is definitely a step down from the others, though I do love the new stress system. I mean hey! You can clear dungeons in one run now! By the way, the six red stars dungeon doesn't really exist. You just enter it, end up in a black screen, take one step any direction and that's it, dungeon's clear. The reward is a spinning sprite that you can't even use, so maybe finish that dungeon?
Also, as much as melee & magic skill are underpowered, the defense skills are way too overpowered. Like, from the moment you max them, there's absolutely no challenge anymore. You could have 0 attack and still be invincible.

once you get to the point where you can continue your character, aka endless grinding, build the stained glass windows in the church, which makes altar boying a stress free activity, so you can do this whenever you need money but dont feel like resting

The biggest annoyance is when your mage attempts melee attacks when you have plenty of mana. Also the lack of combat skill xp after battles really slows down gameplay. Beyond those 2 gripes, You have definitely sorted out the lag/slowdown issues your previous games had, and it plays very smoothly for me.

this game is just a piece of garbage. i recommend not wasting your time on it at all. garbage covered by "nice" effects

I like how all the idiots are screaming about the artwork without taking notice of the sentence at the bottom of the main menu. I thought you might have added it in later but I'm gonna stick with my assumption because previous experience says 95% of Kongregate users have minimal smarts stat.

Dudes, lots of small usability issues. Here are a few. The skills screen should also show all the caps. The village should the current status of related skills when raising the max caps (same goes for rest, train, and job screens). Click to move in dungeons should be added. Are there skill gains from combat? Being able to set magic / physical combat mix or influence during a fight, otherwise my dude spends half their time making useless attacks. A new outside of combat dungeon healing option would be swell. Auto filling potions would be far more convenient (ie, replenish every visit back to the village).

Beginning of game: You have been born mortal...
Anytime you die: Woo, good thing you're not mortal
Most confusing game in the series thus far. lol
