the race track is easy as hell. i agree with everyone who says this game is too easy and too short. IT NEEDS A HARD CORE MODE. why would you ever use quickspell for anything? its crap and will make you lose. always go for max damage for all classes if you want to win anything. in race track just put like 4 mages in a square and upgrade the top first then the back. and make 2 noob mages behind them for the small orcs..... race track = gold/hero exp farming map, NOT difficult unless youre dumb

BWD777, here's how to pass race track: start placing mages on the last available places (this apply in every map), then wait to upgrade them.
Place 3 wizards till the end of wave 2, then go to 5 wizards for wave 3 and to 9 for wave 4. Upgrade your two firstly place mages to energy for the big orc, and go to 12/14 mages. Now start upgrading them, from the end of the track to the start. You've done.

This release was probably mostly about the map editor (which is very awesome, by the way). Hard to complain, because I've really enjoyed all three of these games, but this one seemed a bit short and slightly unpolished compared to the previous. Still rated it a 5/5, and I look forward to whatever undefined comes out with next

I come to this damn game every day to see if there is an update that makes it less unbearable.

Disgustingly pointless at this stage. I used all thunder elementals at the race track AND I STILL LOST. I upgraded them as quickly as I could AND I STILL LOST. EVEN WITH QUICKSPELL.

Having heroes that come in with a fixed cost and level up based on campaign rather than map achievement is... wierd. I'd rather see their power scale up with their kills on that map and their XP improve their passive abilities.

No need to grind, I completed the game without ever replaying a map I already beaten. Think, don't level up! Great game as always but too short and levels and heroes are pointless. I was at level 4(!) at end of game and hardly used heroes at all. Great ideas but implemented badly. Maybe Protector is better put to rest, concept taken as far as it was possible. Thanks for everything, I have loved those games to death.

I loved the 1st protector and was really excited to play this but now that i have i find this to be very lacking. The whole experience and heroes system is annoying and the maps dont seen nearly as good as they used to be. Go back to protector 1 if you plan on making a forth one. changing my original score of 5/5 of this game to 2/5. I voted it up too hastily :(

Ok, so the issue with upgrading the heroes is that you can only level up heroes that are in slot 1 or 2. None of the other slots work (as in, you can't click on the hero). That's my experience anyway. Pretty good, not necessarily ultimate, but hey, it's a good game.

Blah. I really enjoyed the first two, but this has degenerated badly. Grind up for what? heroes I can't afford, and skills that mean nothing. Just Blah.

Oh, another thing, Money is a b*tch to earn and the heros you get with it aren't worth the trouble. You usually don't get enough money during the middle of battle to get the hero, Or, making it worth to get the hero instead of upgrading basic units, etc

omg kongregate...shame...everytime u come out with a new protector it is a step down from the last...i mean seriously take some time and do it rite...i lvled up 5 times and beat game...it was 100% 2 easy so easy i figured game wasent even complete yet....seriously last boss battle was horribly easy cmon....even zone was a MEDIUM what happened to the very hard zones? or hardcore mode? jesus your makeing games that cater to whiney newbs now

I was ecstatic about this game when I saw it was on Kong, then I tried to make my own custom map and...GAH! It makes me lose at the end of every custom map, when you try to reload it everything after wave 1 is undefined, and all the waypoints are missing. This is my worst issue. Only other one I can think of is that the Talents (not rewards) you get w/ experience are horrible. Not hardly anything worth the experience.

cripple sucks i never use it
debuff and infect are best
for warriors anything works, but i love criticals the best - they can take down bosses

Dark Blade, cripple is used against enemies with regen or absorb in order to prevent them from getting a lot more health

Because if u didnt get it then it would take even longer... when u get that it pretty much means that u level up the same amount of time as the first time u leveled up...
maybe in later levels it adds up to more but i dont know...

So, it's nice, but I have a complaint: Where'd the skill trees go? I felt those added much more variety to the game instead of the 8 skills we get. I suppose I like the achievements, but though I'm not far enough to say for sure, I worry that enough of them may ruin the difficulty. Visually, it's still nice like the other two, and the gameplay is still there. I haven't encountered any bugs yet, but if they are there like other users say, it sounds like it may be a problem. It's fun, and it's a 3/5 from me, but so far it feels a bit like a small step back instead of forward.

If "Fast Learner" makes the experience earned go up by 5%, but the experience required increases by 5% each time (I'm assuming – 1000 first, now 1200), then what exactly is the point of that skill?

After I get Chipper and Elemental Mastery awards,my first warrior can hit a monster over 400hp with only 1 hit(no upgrade,it show 23damage)

soooo buggy...
- sometimes the creeps just don't take any damage
- completing custom maps results in losing the level... as if you die
- jams up and shuts down firefox.
... I'm sure there are others.
But great game still - just with these fixes, it will be even better!

yea - i like the game series, but this one i've found a lot of bugs in such as the creatures not always following the path correctly, sometimes they seem to overshoot the path by a space and then turn around and come back and on wave 11 of hidden path i keep having a problem occur where no matter how many troops i have, the enemy's health just doesn't even go down

keeps saying that flash player is running slow because of a script somehting or other that will eventually make my computer unresponsive... click dont abort and it pops up again, click abort and the game starts loading screens on screens on screens :S

I really enjoyed this game, as I did the previous ones, however, there is a slight lag every time I place a unit on the map, and my computer is quite fast.

Treasury earning is ridiculous, I earn nothing for losing, and very little for winning a map more than once, while I lose a lot for wages even if I just keep my heroes in entourage without using.

I like most of the changes, but the skill system seems useless and there are numerous bugs... for one thing, I've seen a bug where a newly-placed mage can one-shot kill anything until the end of its first wave. I can't make it happen reliably, though, it just seems to occur randomly.
