This game is way easier than the previous ones, and most features are not needed. I finished it without any poison mages, for example. Needlessly complex for what the gameplay actually turns out to be.
Last level I finished with only cold mages, for example.

hmm.. it seems since poison is so abandoned, if you make a poison mage, make him a specialist poison infliction debuffer or infector mage.

How to make money: Beat the Racetrack repeatedly. Make sure you have an energy mage hero, then put a mage in each set of two, alternating sides, until you have one in all 5 rows. Then wait until the racing wratihs r done and u can afford the hero. Place him, then level everyone you can until the speedy bats. At that point you should have buckets of money and should spam place mages on the remaining tiles. Keep leveling until the judge comes. If you still have a couple lives, dont pay to level your units, just wait until he dies. You rake in 1200-1600 each time.

In beating "The Roundabout", I found a great base for my defense included:
2X Fire Warrior
1X Energy Warrior
3X Fire Mage
3X Energy Mage
Be sure to use a lot of Debuffers and Archers. They make the difference!

ahaha, I got a glitch where my hero was able to be placed on the first map, I had -25 gold but he could still be used, got exp, and I still won the map. All I had to do was get my gold back over 0.

For Ritual Path - focus on the sides and cold.
For the game - different colours on cleared maps depending on score would help keeping track on good runs. I love the game - but was only lvl 5 when done...

Yeah, I liked the 2nd one way better. This one's pretty tough. And although I haven't had a chance to use a hero (because of said toughness) it doesn't seem that cool

In little forest you should just place bob at the corner in the top left. Then place a mage at the second block from the start and a mage at the second block from the right at the second row. These are your primary units which you level to cripple and them max the specials. Place some warriors and energy heroes on the last row and level EVERYTHING to energy for max damage. These units are just to make sure you don't lose lives. Having them at lvl 3 with critical for warriors should be enough. Place one hero with a different element in the middle and see him rake in the experience from the last boss (600) + everything he gets in between.

1. Should be better choose of heroes (like all have same dmg and same powers). 2. OMG!!! So hard to lvl heroes and no use of em! 3. Why the hell heroes dont get same speed bonus from awards like all unit?! 4. Skills/Awards section just SUCKs...

I like the awards section but the skills section was definitely better on Protector II. These skills barely help you out and you can beat the game before even getting more than 10 skill points. pointless if you ask me. also, some tweaking needs to be done with the upgrading costs. spamming basic units is still the best tactic on a lot of maps

Tip to little forest: Corners might not be the best place for warrioirs... Instead of placing them all out in the end of the ledges, put them almost all the way in, 1 tile from the forest. This way, they can hit the badsies for more time, before turning around to the other side, to go at those who got past in the 1st place...

I have loved the entire protector series so far, Well Done. 1 minor request though, can we please have armour rating on the mini status bar, to enable better planning early on.

silmarilen: Yeah, I just tried it again. I think my game had glitched up again. It keeps giving the first (or second or third) unit a massive damage boost. That must've happened to me when I was doing the forest. Sorry about that.

Hotkeys, please? If I could upgrade my units quicker, I'd do much better. Perhaps U for upgrade and 1-4 for selections?

You can get 5k gold and xp on Massive portal, but it does take longer than the race track which gives about 1.5k.
There doesn't seem to be any point to leveling. Hero levels are kinda useless, and it takes so long to get the awards and skills that every map has been beaten several times before even getting half the skills. More maps or a difficulty setting might help (earn gold and xp on easy then progress to hard).

For little forest just build warriors on each corner from the back forward and upgrade them thus: energy>consecrate>special>tactician>damage.
the warrior energy and paving upgrades help alot as well as the energy hero that adds damage to energy units.
