Many of the bugs have been fixed, thanks for that. And now battles give a more decent amount of cash, diminished the grind a lot.

Did you even test this game before releasing it? Raise the exp gained after each map or don't have a skill system at all, this is ridiculous.

Gah, I feel like I'm playing an alpha of a game. Tons of glitches, such as the fact that I've used 25 fire mages and still haven't gotten the award, and the game crashes after battles at times. Please make sure the game works before uploading in the future...

Once you get to teh fourth maze, you basically cannot win. THose two headed snakes are simply too numerous to defeat.

Wow, it's been about 8 months since they came out with Protector 2! Now, it's Ultima sprite killing time once again! 5/5 before I even play the game!

Love the series, and this one looks to be even better with the addition of the Heroes.. we shall see. One thing I would love to see changed is how units are selected/deselected. Things can get kind of hectic during waves and the speed of our actions would be greatly increased if we didn't have to close the info panels by clicking on the X's. Instead, why not make it so that simply clicking on the same unit a second time closes their info panel.. enemy info panels too. :) 4/5

I'm guessing you had the all-of-one element award though, which would give you a bit of a bonus. When I was playing, that award wasn't given, and enemies kept barely sneaking by. With the slight bonus from it, I may have been able to go on before grinding out a level :) Many of the people who have played and lost did it before today's patch.

Speaking of awards: how on earth can you get Heroic Efforts? There's no way you can complete a map using only heroes, because you don't have enough gold to start with one.

I had very few of the awards/achievements. Some of the mage ones, sure, but you get those pretty quickly while playing through levels. You just have to look at the wave guide and figure out which type of units to use. Remember, warriors can become archers to deal with flying units. Warriors are MUCH better in this game than they were in the previous incarnations. Also, you don't get achievements/awards when you lose a map, as far as I can tell.

um, you guys just aren't very good at playing the game, I'm at level 6 and didn't grind once... Just went from level to level.

Takumashii: What strategy did you use after the first two levels? I was doing well on the hard one before farming, but then everything just fell apart.

I really like the achievements idea, I havent tried it yet but I like the general idea. And the heroes is fun too, it gives a chance to enhance your own style of playing this game and beating it. If the other comments I read are true then Im dissapointed in the grinding thing, since all maps will be exactly the same so completing a map once is fun, maybe a second time to perfect your score a bit. But to play a map 10x while your certain you will win anyway is just really bad.

For the record, folks, you do not have to repeat ANY levels to beat this game. I've got one map to go, and haven't replayed any maps. However, the only way skills would be useful is through painful grinding. Still a fun game, though.

I've scaled back my 4 to a 1. Ran into several more bugs, enemies freezing at the exit point (costing 1 life a second they were there). Bosses that used to repeat, no longer do.

Since I was such a fan of the first two, especially the first one, I'm really sad about this. Definitely a step down. Still buggy, and I hate the grinding. Out of hope, I'd given it a 4, but now after two days I'm giving it a 2. Scrap this one and go back to the drawing board.

Does every experience level increase the cost in exp by 20%? If that's true, then the 5%/level experience skill is actually COMPLETELY useless.

The first two are some of my favorites on Kong. This one, I believe, is very inferior. Experience system is a good idea poorly implemented. I can get 5% extra XP, but each level costs 20% more XP to advance? The whole system leads to much much much less strategy and tons of pointless grinding on already beaten levels. Very boring. Boooo.

I like the Protector series, but some of the changes here confuse me. The previous skill system worked and made sense: you could boost your chance of beating a level you were having trouble with by beating another map. Now I have to beat multiple levels to get a reward, and the rewards seem mostly pitiful compared to what you could get in P2. Add on top of this the fact that I beat all the levels and still only got to level 4 (levelled to 5 after last map so I had 5 of a total 80 skill point allocated) and had 1 hero (necromancer I don't recommend him btw get someone cheaper) the rewards seem mediocre indeed. Why put grinding in this game? Once you know how to beat a level, you can keep doing it without thought. I like the idea of the Heroes but they're expensive to use and gimmicky because you don't need them to win at all. I can see how custom maps might balance some of this, because you can keep levelling and collecting heroes forever but the game should stand on its own.

Better than the 2nd, though would like more detail when upgrading a unit on what exactly its going to do. Like how much of a % its going to go up.

Typo in one of the awards: The Holy Crusader one says you need to upgrade five units with Holy Light, but then says Holy Might underneath it.

Do you really have to spend 200 gold just to place a hero on the map? Not too sure sicne they game has been updated 2 times since I fired my useless hero.
