Savegame lost for the second time. This seems to be an ever recurrent problem with several games on Kongregate...
Quite frustrating. Game downgraded from 3 to 1/5...

i wish i didnt type this but i gonna...map games count for awards XD make ur own easy map then play it over and over to get the award XD
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
this game has a rediculous difficulty curve, the awards are borderline pointless, as is leveling up, completely lacks anything different from the first three thats worth mentioning. Also, heroes barely do anything, and by the time you have enough money to put one on the field your other units will have far surpassed it. I give it a 67/100.

fun game but there a few things that are annoying, *cough*little forest*cough* and heroes kinda cost a lot to get (over 1000) and a lot to use (200) but the wages are ok (15)... otherwise it was a great game :)... i wish it wasnt the end of the series tho...

ok guys, i heard some people couldnt upgrade the heroes. Here is the thing. You can't upgrade them ingame, but you can upgrade them in the tavern by selecting them.

what i don't really get is that things that were stradegy(hope i spelled that right) but now are with adventure/rpg which isn't making that much sense

agreed. please fix the fast learner thing or explain it. or allow a reset for some gold, please... anything except forcing me to start all over.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The "Fast learner" skill is completely useless... It boosts your experience gain by 5%, but the requirement to level up seems to grow by 20% each level, so even if you put all your points on to fast learner right away, you'll still take longer to learn the actually useful skills, than if you hadn't wasted time with it.

er cat attacked keyboard lol. try playing with going Element-> consecrate -> specialist -> damage -> tactitian. getting 125% in consecrate might work better. It's a very close one without heros
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
for little forest try just warriors all specced in concecrate. go 50 50 energy and physical and just spam damage (try maybe boossting speacil tio 1245%. Start filling from the back (I started on the the first row) so the units in the back get exp. A really ugly level btw (much harder than most hard maps) so getting skills for +damage and paving costs is important.

Can any1 give me a solution how to beat f**king Little Forest? I've already tried every single f**king way of placing and upgrading units, but I guess there's one more that I've missed...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Maybe it's just because I haven't played enough yet (4.5hrs, lv4, 17 wins), but so much of it seems pointless. Huge amounts of grinding for almost meaningless upgrades. Incredibly difficult (lots of grind) to even get a hero, but trying to save the money to place one on a map will cripple your basic units or come so late in a map as to be meaningless - so why bother with Heroes at all? But if the main "new" feature of the game is something to avoid and ignore.... what's the point?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The awards make no sense, More than 20 is 21, Yet I don't get the bonus's until after 30 or 40. having to play the same maps over and over again is not how you enhance playability, It makes the game frustrating and ultimately boring. 2/5

"The inability to sell a poorly placed unit is one of the key aspects of the strategy... ...Protector involves a lot more in-depth planning and forward thinking..."
So we can't sell units because... the developer is lazy? I've not seen a level yet where the pathing is obvious, even the one that LOOKED straightforward that I played has the enemies criss-crossing lines to keep them away from my warriors. So there's no way to forward-plan anything. The developer needs to either SHOW the paths or give us the ability to sell units.

hold on my bad the level up option for heroes IS done under the tavern. click on a picture of one of your heroes (avoid the 'X' lol) and then underneath their stats should say Level Up in white, click those words to do it with your TOTAL gold, not in-map gold. interesting
Im saying it will not allow me to click on the picture in the tavern to level up the heroes.

on little forest, just pave the second to first tile and put a warrior there, then turn him into an archer, increase his damage,it instant kills so many enemies!!!!!!!

I have comleted all with exception of: RoundaBout, Island of Woe, Massive Portal, Ritual Path and Hidden Path so Far... And took only Fast Learner SKILL. I STRONGLY SUGGEST to You to Use WARRIOR!!! and upgr him to Archer. He has more dmg than MAGE and can shoot Flying. Also You Can get "concentrate"- or what ever it got named and it rids of problem with STR with Your element.

i have completed new sands and orc rage but i havent unlocked any new maps, do i have to complete the roundabout to unlock new ones?

As others have said, this game is WAY too difficult. The motivation to play levels over and over again to have a tiny bit better chance just isn't motivating. The huge amount of different specializations and awards and all that is probably cool, but the game is just too hard for most people to even get that far.

Solid game, but not quite what I'd hoped. Tower defense type games are all about balance, and Protector's always suffered from maps that don't take advantage of what it does well. No exception here. I'm enjoying the marathon challenge of playing through levels repeatedly, but longer levels and bigger maps would have been a much more satisfying way to go instead.
