baxton i agree completely, but if it had all that it would be too easy and would require no trial-and-error escept placement.

I have loved the entire protector series so far, Well Done. 1 minor request though, can we please have armour rating on the mini status bar, to enable better planning early on.

silmarilen: Yeah, I just tried it again. I think my game had glitched up again. It keeps giving the first (or second or third) unit a massive damage boost. That must've happened to me when I was doing the forest. Sorry about that.

Hotkeys, please? If I could upgrade my units quicker, I'd do much better. Perhaps U for upgrade and 1-4 for selections?

You can get 5k gold and xp on Massive portal, but it does take longer than the race track which gives about 1.5k.
There doesn't seem to be any point to leveling. Hero levels are kinda useless, and it takes so long to get the awards and skills that every map has been beaten several times before even getting half the skills. More maps or a difficulty setting might help (earn gold and xp on easy then progress to hard).

For little forest just build warriors on each corner from the back forward and upgrade them thus: energy>consecrate>special>tactician>damage.
the warrior energy and paving upgrades help alot as well as the energy hero that adds damage to energy units.

Same problem with nasty Litle Forest
Probably need good warrior hero, or many warrior upgrages - mages are not good on this map

Little forest is great for xp and cash, too. A single consecrate energy archer built for speed can defend it, and it rakes in 2000xp and 1200 gold in just over 5 minutes.

brandeninbc: Thanks for the forest suggestion, it's a lot faster for melee units than Island of Woe! For Horde, just do the lighthouse and fill everywhere up with mages.

WTF. STupid glitch.
I killed the last boss of a level, then it came up with a message saying there was another wave full of mosters with 'undefined' health, armor, gold, name. The, nothing happened.
My guys just sit there, I click initiate wave, nothing happens.
Glitchy game!!!

zethral i find little forest is easy to get up melee units as u can usually get 2 tacticians and 1 to the highest level.. all u got to do is put 2 melee units on the 2nd and 3rd space from the start then buy 2 extra ones when u get to wave 7 then just keep making more and more melee units

I'm doing Island of Woe to get up the melee units. I've only managed one per run so far, but it's better than nothing!

Island of woe is best for top mages. Make sure you have all other mage-related upgrades. Place one in each of the front corner, then fill up the slots at the end with mages. Make them all cold, then just upgrade the front two mages towards destructor. When the final boss comes, the first one will level up. Wait until the boss makes it all the way through to level up your mage, so that the boss has a chance of going to the other mage and levelling him up, too.

Yes, it has to be said leveling heroes becomes totally ridiculous. Whoever decided to make the xp requirements double each lvl needs to be fired. But for those who can be bothered, make a custom map with easy monsters who have 99999 xp (due to a bug coin and xp is reversed on the map editor) and you can use that to level your heroes. I personally think its stupid to have to do this so dont bother. Could of been a very good game but so many bugs and ill conceived ideas it ruins it a lot for me. 1/5 from me just for ruining what could have been an awesome.

Heroes are sort of unbalanced. You have to level them up a lot if you want them to stay useful throughout a battle - usually, they're be 2-3x as strong as all the other units, but by the end, they're only a half or a third as strong. Maybe they're sort of useful if you can get one leveled up a lot and deploy it fairly early, but they're for the most part unnecessary.

i completed the first level 5 times without losing a single life and its not giving me the flawless victory award wtf man
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
well my level 7 frostik needs 25000 to level and umi get 2 exp per hit so not really sure how u supposed to get to level 10 without wasting 100 hours on this....and how u supposed to get a level 10 tactician for that matter i get to level 9 on massive portal but thats it...

I would suggest adding the immunities and armor of a wave to the preview option; your inflictions can easily become useless to a whole stage, or your weak men doing no damage to the highly armored foes that you couldn't see coming unless you had played the stage before.

the way to complete any lvl is upgrade ur mages or warriors in the first class than u see xD
well better is archers and quickspellers and train speed

equal amount of monsters from both paths when there are 2 >:(. if its a boss wave then 2 bosses that are half as powerful (one from both entrances) otherwise the defense is very unbalanced
