Tweak, tweak, tweak and keep tweaking. This version show promise & is an improvement over the previous one but still retains some of the same inefficiencies & balance issues. Needing to replay maps repeatedly to get enough experience to finish the game is boringly monotonous, it quickly loses the fun factor and becomes annoying & at times frustrating.

This game ROX! 4 awards left :D, but heroes are useless and weaker than normal units, only "bob the builder" is good.

The only upgrade i see is not for the mages/soldiers as in P2. here it's 1% damages (for example), that sucks... -_-'

@cedric: 1. there are no 'towers' 2. of course its going to be hard if you dont know how to upgrade 3. protector 2 has the same upgrade system as 3, the only difference is 3 has acheivements

for roundabout, start by placing two wizards on the closest square to the entries and one warrior in the middle
then place four more wizards, two next to each side of the warrior, as close as possible
now upgrade: (I would only use fire)
mages: infect-slow-debuff (infect for those close to the entry), specialise them (specialism, inflictor, large increase...)
warrior: generalise as much as possible, and make him an archer

aztec801 put 1 fire mage inside and 2 wariors, 1 fire and 1 energy, change them in archers later,
if anyone knows how to beat "mountain fire" tell me please :F

@crystal: if by characters you mean heroes, you must buy them at the tavern. if you mean basic units, then you simply buy more
