The music is adventurific. And with unit names like Childermas and Schooler, I can impress my girlfriend every time she opens my laptop =)

This is not a perfect game by any means, but it is very relaxing. I play Disgaea 4 on my PS3 which is very involved and kind of frustrating sometimes, but here in Starbucks, I can relax with Protector IV.V and sip coffee just to take a load off of everything. ^^

This is a good game. I enjoy playing it. I would have liked it better if there were a way to just view certain types of quests on the main map. Say for instance a row of buttons going across the top of the map that would allow the player to select each factions quests as well as one for just normal quests and an option for all quests as it is now. The normal quests would also appear when the faction they represent was selected. I think the game would also have been better if the player had to increase relations with a faction before any of that factions quests would be available. The main storyline quests making contact with the various factions would then be required to be able to get quests from each faction. It would make the game take longer and it would make for a better storyline/rpg. Also no heroes available from the factions until contact has been made.

I like the game but some things are just a mystery to me like why my amulet of supremecy (elemental +3) is worth more (even tiny amounts) than my amulet of the defender (elemental +4)?

Some basic tips:
1. Try to focus on either ranged or magical units, of one faction. This will allow you to dish out a hell lot of damage.
2. Max out wisdom for both the heroes and yourself. It'll pay off big time.
3. There are quite a few storyline 5 wave quests that are most convenient for training your heroes and making some quick cash (Cult of Skaran quests, for instance).
4. Using advanced units is tricky business. Most of them are buffed versions of corresponding basic units, although some are unique. Sometimes they're useless, sometimes 1 or 2 units are enough to beat an entire map. Once you learn to use them, they're invaluable.
Hope that helps.

IV.V almost seems to have started where IV left off with the quests, but made me start over with the heroes. I got quests with 20 and 25 waves when I got done with the first quest in IV.V. In IV there were mostly 10 wave quests at the beginning. I played through IV once and that game is currently at 100 wins against 6 losses. My first time starting IV.V and I am already at 5 losses with only 8 wins? Where are all the 10 wave quests to build my heroes?

@whiteshirtbrian Unit's abilities are determined by it's class, not hero's element. So much should be obvious. As for advanced units, their stats can vary considerably. You simply need to pick the ones you like, and they'll pay off quite well.

developers want you to enjoy their game not rush through it to get badges. with speed ups they need to make more battles for the game will seem too short without them. this makes for more work for very little pay off.

One of the really annoying things about this game is that you can not fire units once you have put them on the battle feild.

I rather hope Protector V will actually attempt to fix the flaws in the engine that have existed and been pointed out since Part ONE. And that it has better documentation than this game.

I love this game, but please increase the difficulty by about x10. What's the point of all the level ups when it's so easy to win anyway?

can someone tell me where i can find out what things like berserk and concentration do?
Its quite annoying that the popup says "this will increase your concentration bonus by 25%" yet nowhere (that i can find) dose it say what that means, It might as well say "Your bloop bloop will go up 5 points with this" (where you found this information would also be of help since i cant ask you to explain every single ability in the game in post form)

I finished most of the story line quest, but still i stuck at "FORGED METAL"... How can there be 32*BEETLES with 1500hp? Such a tough BUG

@shortpinman. mount and blade isn't the only one that did it and just say mount and blade because warband is the second. but who knows m&b might have stole it too

@Uglypie24 "Relationships with factions should also give you discounts at their stores."
They generally do, once your relationship gets high enough.

Adding some hotkeys would be a nice touch. Maybe just for a few of the basic repeat functions such as speeding up/slowing down frame rates, the start wave button, mute, etc. Great game!

Being able to rearrange heros and inventory would be nice. Other then that...it's all good fun can't wait for 5.0. =D

Undefined, if you make a Protector 5, please improve maps, make the protectomon monsters that grant other bonuses than attack stats, and add in more hero slots.

This game is really good. especially when you compare it to the original protector, which was a good game, this is worlds beyond. 5/5 and hope for another one!

Does anybody beside me have a bug that no stores are available except three (kingdom, forest and mountain)? I have maxed out reputation with Protectorate, Skaran and Hamlar, but their shops don't appear in the list. The mouse cursor changes when I hover over places where shop names should be, but nothing happens when I click that empty spaces.
May be, there's some other condition to unlock shops besides having 'Like That' reputation with the fraction?

There's a big exploitable bug. Gold doesn't save when you go to the starting menu. So purchase a bunch of items, go to menu, reload the game, and you have both all those items and the gold you just used. Rinse and repeat, sell the items, then play a map to "save" your gold and you just made a ton of money.

HERO MEMORY WIPER removes all starting skill points. For example, you start with a SWORDPLAY only hero with 10 in MAGIC, and you wipe him to move those points, and he has 0 in everything and NO EXP.
Either that's a bug, or the item needs a better description.

so many of the things seems random and useless :( i mean is there a point besides using pavement items and sword/magic/specialism items?

Can someone tell me the easiest way to obtain Protectomon? At least tell me where to find all of Arkandia Jones items are.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i noticed when you use a heor memory wiper the hero loses all of their starting skillpoints. I'm not sure if its a bug or feature, but if you could make it not delete those skillpoints it would be much appreciated

wait you get a badge for playing on kongregate?, who made those badges?, if i ever meet him i will personaly shake his hand in gratitude.

@happyoldlady did you install a new version of flash or something? Or maybe you got some update that set your internet to 'delete browser history when shutting down' ...
