Steamlining some of the gui elements. A continous waves without having to click would be great. Best flash game out there :)
You should start looking into Unity. Its easier and more powerful than flash

Some of my heroes are from Kingdom of Arkandia... Hmm. Why does that sound familiar? [Says this while playing this, Arkandian Crusade, Elements of Arkandia, a bunch of other Arkandian games, and Everybody Edits.]

lucke13- that's the point of using strategy. if an enemy absorbs the units you have later on, play as few as possible and then switch to a different element.

Holy hell there NEEDS to be a way to sell units or atleast tell them to stop attacking especially when the enemy absorbs the attacks >:U

@eroge11 For me, I admit, it is laggy, but it doesn't carry over to other games on the site, and if you just refresh the game, it should be fine.

1. The mute music button works fine, but the mute sound effects button has to pressed repeatedly each time a new map is played.
2. Just wondering, is there a way to play the game in full screen but on a small screen without having to scroll up and down to press various buttons ? Tried to play this game on various size screens, and apparently playing it full screen on a 10-inch screen is the most painful experience. A >17-inches screen are better !

@ Molordias are you taking into account the defencive capabilities of the enemy units? Sometimes making a few more powerful troops instead of a load of weaker ones can kill the bosses more easily. But, saying that, what you're suggesting does sound good.

Is anybody else so sick of the seat belt commercials that they're considering driving without a seat belt just to spite everybody?

Another comment. Melee units are currently practically useless. Since about 95% of the maps have flying units on them. All the melee units will do is suck up experience that your range characters need. If you invest your points right you can kill all the enemies with just ranged units (melee not needed), and they can kill flying units as well. My suggestion, either have flying units appear on only like 3/4 of the maps. Or make it so that all units can hit flying units. But ranged units can attack more than 1 square away from themselves. Whereas melee units can only attack 1 square away. Also Wisdom is useless, sure you'll gain experience faster. But since the next level requires more experience. It's still going to take longer and longer to level up, wisdom or no. The only difference is, you won't have any skill points in anything. Great game, but a little messy compared to previous protector game. Refreshing change though, hope you'll incorporate these suggestions into protector 5!

Great game. My main issue. The leveling up of your individual units. The first few level ups give you some solid bonuses (+40% damage bonus). But after that you have to start investing in a bunch of abilities you don't want (why do I have to get de-buff to increase my damage more). Also the bonuses are way too small for way too much money. Later level ups can cost like 100gp for a +25% damage bonus. When you could just spend 25 gp to get another unit which will deal more overall damage than the boost you would've otherwise gotten. I would suggest that all units gain bonus damage when they level up. If they wish they can choose to further increase damage, or increase speed or one of their special effects (such as splash, critical, berserk etc.). They get to choose on every level up and none of the special effects are needed to buy other ones. + so the developer can see this.

After I completed the tutorial, there was a clicky that told me about http://protectorheroes.com/ -- when I went there, though, it says: NOTICE: This domain name expired on 04/12/2012 and is pending renewal or deletion.

The "speed up" button doesn 't scale time for all elements the same. It seems your units attack a bit slower in comparison with the mobs. The mobs get further with the speed up than normal.

How does the gold return, steal and loot chance work? If you equip items that increase one of these, do they only work with units which have the items equiped? or do they work for all units? Pavement for example just works in general, no importance if one hero actually builds units. Does the gold return, loot and steal also work on a "global" level?

The music is adventurific. And with unit names like Childermas and Schooler, I can impress my girlfriend every time she opens my laptop =)

This is not a perfect game by any means, but it is very relaxing. I play Disgaea 4 on my PS3 which is very involved and kind of frustrating sometimes, but here in Starbucks, I can relax with Protector IV.V and sip coffee just to take a load off of everything. ^^

This is a good game. I enjoy playing it. I would have liked it better if there were a way to just view certain types of quests on the main map. Say for instance a row of buttons going across the top of the map that would allow the player to select each factions quests as well as one for just normal quests and an option for all quests as it is now. The normal quests would also appear when the faction they represent was selected. I think the game would also have been better if the player had to increase relations with a faction before any of that factions quests would be available. The main storyline quests making contact with the various factions would then be required to be able to get quests from each faction. It would make the game take longer and it would make for a better storyline/rpg. Also no heroes available from the factions until contact has been made.

I like the game but some things are just a mystery to me like why my amulet of supremecy (elemental +3) is worth more (even tiny amounts) than my amulet of the defender (elemental +4)?

Some basic tips:
1. Try to focus on either ranged or magical units, of one faction. This will allow you to dish out a hell lot of damage.
2. Max out wisdom for both the heroes and yourself. It'll pay off big time.
3. There are quite a few storyline 5 wave quests that are most convenient for training your heroes and making some quick cash (Cult of Skaran quests, for instance).
4. Using advanced units is tricky business. Most of them are buffed versions of corresponding basic units, although some are unique. Sometimes they're useless, sometimes 1 or 2 units are enough to beat an entire map. Once you learn to use them, they're invaluable.
Hope that helps.

IV.V almost seems to have started where IV left off with the quests, but made me start over with the heroes. I got quests with 20 and 25 waves when I got done with the first quest in IV.V. In IV there were mostly 10 wave quests at the beginning. I played through IV once and that game is currently at 100 wins against 6 losses. My first time starting IV.V and I am already at 5 losses with only 8 wins? Where are all the 10 wave quests to build my heroes?

@whiteshirtbrian Unit's abilities are determined by it's class, not hero's element. So much should be obvious. As for advanced units, their stats can vary considerably. You simply need to pick the ones you like, and they'll pay off quite well.

developers want you to enjoy their game not rush through it to get badges. with speed ups they need to make more battles for the game will seem too short without them. this makes for more work for very little pay off.
