i'm going to have to start all over-and this time have my main character put ALL his skill points into Leadership so it will be POSSIBLE to hire more heros! oh, and don't even bother with melee-type characters, being totally helpless against flying monsters is absurd! i definitely preferred the earlier protector-where you started out with plain mages and had them CHOOSE an element after they level up!

God damn all off you guys suck. The Hamlar quest Forged metal is REALY easy. Just have a debuffer and the rest use melee soldier with the abilty to crush armor and high dmg. Like the Huscarl unit that can gain up to CA. 300% more dmg

Now on the new ubuntu 11.04 64bit it works! It was a flash player issue for sure but why some games worked anyway? Great game by the way!

This would have been an easier badge, if i could sort the map to show only the "tyrian" quest line. As it is, all the little flags look the same as most of the flags are shades of blue... and all of them say "storyline" and all of the persistent flags are "storyline" so it ends up as one big mess. I did get the badge, only after i finished the main questline.
the last tyrian quest is named "Don't you open that trap door" not "the root of all evil". :P

Im sure every single person who played this awesome game missed a keyboard shortcut to close the upgrade window, also a esy to switch between troops without the needing to close and reopen the interface.

Deathtide asked - "In this version are the items that allowed you to change the element of a hero gone?"
Answer: no, but they seem to be a touch rarer as random drops. One of the shops sells a bunch of different cheeses that allows you to change the elemental leaning of your heroes through a one-time use item.

All my god, if you upgrade a patrol unit to max in the middle line of the skill tree, he has just became a chaingun sentry.

Seems a little buggy, sometimes the same units of same level deal totally different amounts of damage without any explanation whatsoever.

HAHAHAHA OMG! Level 20 loot skill + 500% item drop potion from Arkandia Jones + powerful thieves w/3 titan earings + 2 gentleman's dress ring on alt + final Arkandian quest = 246 items found... nearly every critter dropped one. Problem is, what you get from stores/Arkandia Jones is still much better than random drops, and still misssing 2 of the non-store talent scrolls.

"Hello, street urchin, please be our General. Your brother's life is in peril after getting into trouble with the Covenant, but you should just forget about him and lead us in a campaign you know even less about.." Priceless.

excuse me, i meant that there is no way to raise reputation with hillhome, you can raise rep with convenent by buying artifacts at hermit shop.

i was sad there were no quests given by either the chaotic convent or the hillhome invaders. would have been nice to get some insighte on who they are through a short quest line. there really should have been a quest lin for every faction. also there is no way to raise your relationship with the convent higher then freind, because of the lack of quests or artifacts.

A pimped out "Dirty Harry" (Defender Jameson) and now another Defender Jameson available for hire?
Come now, he's broken enough as it is, but giving me a clone of him?

come on man...every game fire is always the main weakness...then theres that 1 level in this game where they arent affected by it

A feature that lets you select what you want your units to attack would be nice. I mean like you could select for a unit to attack the first units or the last units in his range.

I love how if you get Elementalism high enough, monsters that are supposed to be resistant to your element actually get weaker.

5 stars!
Is it just me, or did the colors used to denote critter element just get a lot better. I don't have to squint to tell the difference between energy and earth any more.
Feature request: Make a character's icon flash if they have skill points to spend. Its kind of annoying to click through all of the characters I just used looking for skill points, and sometimes I forget

When trying to pick an element for a map you're going to use first look at: 1) Their elements. Always try picking the most frequent weakness as your element, if that's not possible 2) then look at the final waves' weaknesses. The final 5 waves will do, but also always look at 3) The bosses' weaknesses. Even if only the bosses are a different element, make sure you DO NOT add their strengths to your deck. ( + if you think this helped)

Nice game, just two little things:
- BALANCE! Why don't I need any melee units? Why are there no Magic/Ranged-immune units? Why does every skillpoint cost the same regardless if its the 1st in Logistics or the 17th in Ranged? I guess every hero looks the same: 20 points in ranged/magic
- INTERFACE! It's incredibly repetitive after a while, clicking each unit, clicking skills, clicking the +Damage. Why isn't the skilltree on the first page at least? Why isn't there a continuous combat button to get rid of some more repetitive clicking? Why don't I see the strenght of the monsters in the mission bar? I select my heroes based on the strenght (and absorbs) of the monsters not the weaknesses.
A little bit more listening to your users would go a long way into making this game very memorable.

Protector is the one game on Kongregate that I will play regardless of whether or not it has achievements. I love you Undefined.

Love this game. 5/5 Everything was great though I really would like an auto upgrad button cos when you get to large maps with waves of 25+, it just becomes so tiring to upgrade each unit.

Also another thing I seem to have found useful is to have your third hero more like a benefit mule, lives and paving cost are global, if you're on the skaran quests you have 1 Life, have your mule pick up some extra lives on his/her items.

Spellsword seems to be the only melee unit worth looking at, and even then you're only going to be placing one or two on *some* maps, although melee doesn't hit flying, spellsword is the only unit that appears to have a snowballing feature, and it's got a pretty high % On it too.
Set up your spellsword behind a strong caster and try to make the unit arrive at him with low HP, if he's getting kills you want to upgrade your siphon to max, if your hero has a lot of swordplay bonuses on it, he should be one-hitting most things after that and will continuously grow in strength, perhaps the only downfall is that he is melee in the first place, and if you're like me you're using him from quickfire's units, so he'll be fire based, also of note is that he can bring a debuff too, further increasing damage from all sources, a really nice unit.

The inventory becomes very unwieldy after a while, it would be good if you could search by modifiers such as ranged combat, logistics etc and see immediately which item you have has the best stats for your needs.
