Never really played the others, aside from maybe 20-30 minutes to get some of the Achievements. This is easily the most fun I've ever had playing a Tower Defense game. Simply awesome, 5/5.

Needs a way to increase the speed more. Maybe add 2x, 5x, and 10x speed buttons...or just the current Speed Up and a 10x Speed button.

I've been a fan since Defender and this is the best incarnation yet. Thanks for all the good work. 4.5/5.
Suggestions: 1. It's just as, if not more, important to see the enemy's strengths for the upcoming battle. It would be nice if you could visually represent each wave's strength and weakness (maybe two colours?) in the battle preview window rather than me having to mouse over each wave individually.
2. I'd like to be able to click out of the upgrade window for a character and onto the next person without clicking the "X" button. I can do it when checking stats, but I can't do it after upgrading and that's most likely when I'll need to.
3. I don't get the Talents. Never paid much attention to them. I'm guessing they are why the game got easier the farther in I got. I'm already upgrading myself and my characters. Having random bonuses given to me as well unbalances the game, imo.

This game is wow...the same... You music and first time player hook AMAZING!!!!! the game it's self...It's hard to comment on this SAME game again. I will say BOO! BOO! Fun game! Seems to have confused the folks who expected just a basic tower defense game, but that's their loss.
I do wish the terms and effects were more transparent: what is steal, what does debuff do now, which items traits/abilities help you even when that hero isn't selected (like reduced paving costs), how do traits stack (like multiple heroes with reduced paving costs), etc.
Also, hate the one-click sell. I bought a scroll to give me a skill, and it went into my inventory. What's a natural thing to do to try to get it to work? Click on it. Oops, still in the store, it sold it. There goes my money.

This game needs a wiki for it. Knowing all the units that are available and what they do would be wonderful. Not to mention, I understand what some of the questions do at the beginning, but...not all of them.

Suggestion: Allow us to sort/organize our Heroes. I've kicked out some and now theres big gaps of spaces between my heros.

A merit based protectopedia would be cool -- if you get access to the unit you can find out what it does via protectorpedia.

Well...even If I am a great fan of Protector series, I must say that I liked the old protector upgrades more than this fixed system. Here you combine only protector's classes. I just loved upgrading my basic warrior to archer, with new looks every level etc...if you plan to do Protector V, please make class upgrade paths to every protector. Imagine upgrading your mage to for example archmage, shaman or necromancer ! There are infinite possibilities. Otherwise, excellent work.

Did you know you can permanently change element of a hero? Just put 2 element switching items in his inventory and play a quest, after you finish and remove both items, element of first one will stay (other than the one which is used during the quest). Found out by accident :-)

@knlbr there is a scroll that let you reset hero abilityes in one of the shops, just look for it
and the best units are skirmishers ; ]

I can't seem to figure out how to open up new story line quests. I've completed all the ones available and have been doing random quests. How do I keep going?

this game is really quite easy. then again, it is an rpg, so that justifies it in some sense.
in my experience, you merely have to careful who you level up; every thing else will follow naturally.

This game needs an in-game explanation of all the terms.
What exactly is "Gold return"? Interest on remaining gold at a wave end? More gold given to you after a mission? More gold per kill?
What about Steal? Is that a chance to increase gold drops from monsters?

Nice atmosphere, nice game, but.... it's not a strategic defense game anymore!
If a map is difficult just grind a bit and gain some xp and it will be a piece of cake. Actually only the original game in this series ('Defender') is a real defense game (and thus, in my opinion, by far the best): there you really have to think were you place your units and there are maps there which took me more than a dozen times before I could do them. Compared to that, this version doesn't require any thinking at all and is far, far too easy.... I would have wished this game to have managed to stay a strategic defense game while having the rpg elements.

As I've already said, love this new version, even though there are a few anomalies - like in the "IDIOTS" map, the bugs are out of proportion strong, a field full of poison shamans, witchdoctors and mages, the bugs have an HP of 60, but can't kill one of them. ?????

I've finished getting all the badges and I must say: splendid work! Loved getting almost all the Talents and the fact that they actually gave you bonuses as well ^^! Liked the storyline and really enjoyed just picking random quests when I felt like it. Last but not least I really liked that there we're diffenerent units and that every units could be every element. You weren't forced to get set skills just because your unit was a mage. 5/5

Great game setup, but overall it is just too easy in comparison to the older ones. If you're going to make it this easy, please add a difficulty setting to give them more life or something.

At least in past protector games consecration gives a damage bonus against enemies who are strong against your element. If an enemy is strong against fire, a fire paladin would actually do more damage with consecration. I haven't really tried it in this game yet, but that is how it used to work

I found a glitch- if you an element changing item on a hero, do a quest, and then put another element changing item on that same hero without taking the first off, and go into the screen to start a quest, the hero's origional element will be changed to the element of the first item.
