I have a question. Without being sarcastic, could someone advise me on how to unlock the scrolls required to gain the talents such as "Venomous Grasp" and "Unholy Aura"? I wouldn't usually ask a question like this however I've tried virtually everything I can think of.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I seem to be unable to complete th egame. I've tried 3 browsers and the game keeps deleting my saved files. Continually restarting means I'll never get the Hard badges.

The only thing you should worry about is strength+absorb waves, if there are any. Otherwise, get a hero that has an archer with consecration and just pwn. For some reason the hero with trainees is the best if you put all your personal skills into "Magic use" and hero's into "Magic" and then "Elemental", have him carry highest +magic/+elemental equipment, along with element change if necessary, while your other heroes carry +loot, -pave, +lives stuff that's hero-independent. +steal is useless while you have no units that can steal.

This game is far from the classic strategy games I remember. The road to successfully finished level is very, very, very narrow - you have to do it exactly right, and by exactly right, I mean you have to gain experience of the towers in the last lines first, because later it's impossible for obvious reasons. Because of this effort, a wave can break your defenses since you did not deploy enough towers. And if you did play it right, there comes a wave that is strong in what you have most of and you lose. Basically, you would have to have a strategy calculator nearby to successfully complete levels. A good game is challenging, not backstabbingly difficult, so you have to repeat each level a number of times before you finish it.

Becomes insanely easy quickly.. simply focus dmg upgrades for one magic/rng hero.. rapes everything no more need for strategy save for the occasional absorb.

How does steal work? I have been using a thief unit I got from a ‘scholars of hamlar’ hero in a couple of dozen fights but I still have not gotten the ‘sneak thief’ - stolen over 50 gold, or the ‘sneaky’ - stolen over 500 gold talents. Is there any way that you can check to see how much you have stolen?

those diamond bugs had 60+ armor, if your soldiers amped with weakness and elemental&hero&lord bonuses can't do that many, the damage is reduced to zero.

I don't get it. I had a thief with cold power fighting diamond bugs that flew and it's weakness was cold. Yet they didn't do any damage. o_O

The strength of the earlier Protector games was their absolutely precise balance. My friends and I would work together on certain stages and produce a very exact, almost Starcraft-esque build order, down to specific timings for levels up; it was almost like programming. In this game, so much is left to chance and unpredictable variability (aka customization) that that level of balance is necessarily impossible. I think tower defenses as a genre thrive on balance above all things, because strategy lies in predictability. Protectors 2 and 3 are my favorite TDs ever, but Kingdom Rush is another excellent example of the efficacy of precise design over unbridled complexity.

If interested you can see the creator of most of the artwork in the game and map here:

Hes a great friend of mine who supports my own art! Go give him the thanks he deserves.

I really do not this series. This is the fourth one and not one has ever come to my interest. the graphics are sloppy, the game is over anilyzed, and the gameplay is just dreadful.

TIP: One strong elemental/magic use hero, element switch items(just against absorb stages) and it's like sandbox mode.

"Ankle Shot: This unit aims for the ankles, slowing the target by 10%" This skill also works on flying enemies such as bats, and flying eyeballs that don't even have ankles. 0.o

The normal quests are way too hard early in the game and yet they become very easy later on. Would it be better if they were easier at the beginning and then get harder as you complete storyline quests?

Haha at first i felt overwhelmed and toward the middle i got a little bored but now that i won i feel really accomplished. Solid game, if a bit too complex.

this is a great game though, of the games i've played this is one of my favorites simply because it's more enjoyable than most tower defenses + there's a lot of depth, difficulty, & fantasy elements done very well

Do the hero skills even do anything? I've added huge amounts of points into magic and no observable damage increase has been seen.

As much as I enjoy the game, a few thnigs bother me:
1/ ranged units are the godmode. They attack everything and when have been upgraded, leave absolutely no need for melee anymore, esp. since melee units do nothnig when there's fliers, and thusly fall behind in exp.
2/ lvling up units evenly is downright impossible, leaving beastin' units at the front and your units at the back useless, meaning that swarms of fast enemies will fly into your crap units at the back and fly straight past
3/ not being able to delete/replace units is incredibly bothersome
4/ tile paving seems disproportionately expensive
All this leads to more failures than victories in my experience, and it takes a lot of the fun out of it, especially when you can't even level up your favourite melee heroes

To the Dev: Pleas fix the horrible clicks needed to Upgrade units. Click Unit Tile, Click to Skills Page, Click Upgrade, Click Close - Loop. When you have 5+ units to upgrade, this becomes a *nightmare*. There is plenty of room - put the upgrade box further from the unit. Next, have only 1 page for the units - just make it bigger. Give hot-keys to upgrade 1 (top), 2 (middle), 3 (bottom) would suffice as only 3 upgrades are available at any one time. Also, a hot-key to close the box would be nice (if it's not moved/adjusted from the unit) as clicking on that little X after an upgrade gets old fast. I would also greatly appreciate my units having an XP pool or just use Gold to upgrade as it's impossible to (roughly) evenly distribute unit XP. This causes early units to be tough and later units to blow goats and not deal sufficient damage to enemies to slay said enemies before reaching the end. These flaws force me to believe that you do not play your own games. I hope that’s false.

Fun glitch with absorb and 'poison' type effects. Poison hits max hp AND current hp. Absorb absorbs up to max ORIGINAL hp. So if you hit a mob with poison and then hit it with absorb, it will have a bar to the right. Depending on how much damage you've done, that bar can be mighty long.

Most games have a delete/sell unit/tower option. This game does not. Lag + misclick can be fatal in this game because of that fact. (Can turn a game you were about to win into an impossible to win game due to abilities such as absorb and a misplaced unit)

Is it just me...or is this game just stupidly difficult? The storyline quests are a reasonable difficulty curve, but ever since the first "normal" quest I've had crazy trouble actually completing any of them
