honestly, the most aggravating thing about this game is having to exit out of every upgrade window for each unit, specifically not having the ability to rapidly switch between upgrade windows for all the units. that alone has made me die on many of these levels.

Looks like a great game, was excited to play... but honestly the UI is keeping me from getting into it right now :( The map looks great - just the pop-ups, bottom pane on battle screen, and the upgrade units pop-up have huge usability issues, and I didn't have the patience to teach myself how to play.

Far too easy. All the new stuff is cool- but you really don't need to use any of it.
Finished in one sitting with my original heroes and never really had to develop a strategy for anything.

Great game, very in-depth. my only issue (which has been brought up before probably) is that if you don't look at the hero on the heroes page, you wouldn't know what the different element symbols are. I may go back and play the rest of the series.

In retrospect, I think my 5/5 was fair because you continued to breathe new life into your series. Heroes from Protector III returned, but were far more important this time around since you send three out to each mission, and each hero has two units you can hire. These heroes could also be given items that you either loot from battles, buy from shops, or receive from funded expeditions. Sidequests can give you the extra push you need in order to clear a troublesome storyline quest. The truth is that Protector IV is more extensive than you may first think.

Oddly, when I'm listening to a song on youtube in another tab, when I end a level the sound is cut until a reselect a new place on the time line of the video - I'm using safari

BUG REPORT: the axe throwers speed is shown as 7 and it seems as though it is a lot faster, also they have 11 damage and yet i just saw them kill goblins with 22 health and they weren't weak to the axe thrower's element either

how is it possible I acquired the sneaky talent (stolen over 500 gold) but not the cunning thief (200) and sneak thief (50) ?

wow this game is very nice! unfortunately it's too short. i got all badges within 1 weekend. the story needs to go further, maybe like 50 red quests (just for the start^^)

Fer those whos complainin' on sell feature: I'll quote the developer from Protector III: "The inability to sell a poorly placed unit is one of the key aspects of the strategy involved in creating your defensive build. Unlike other similar appearing games, protector involves a lot more in-depth planning and forward thinking, instead of allowing a player to simply take back mistakes."

Horrible user interface. Requires 4 clicks to upgrade a unit (open unit stats, change to skill tree, upgrade skill, close window). A lack of keyboard shortcuts makes the game painful to play.

Just a FYI,
The after battle screen has a part that can be deleted and typed over, I figure that's not how it was intended to be. Like you can retype the "+ 93 Experience" part

love the game only wish there was a way to sell cuz sometimes i wanna replace my normal units with the advanced units but i cant

Some sort of sorting algorithm for your items would be nice, so that it's easier to determine what to sell. Also, I spend 2000GP on an investor skill, and it gives me 5GP after every successful quest, so I have to complete *400* quests successfully before it pays off? That's ridiculous.
Nice game, but honestly not that much different from previous versions.

Like it alot, although it seems alot easier then previous protector games. I think a buyback option for the shop would be a good idea aswell. 5/5

If your having trouble, i suggest focusing your hero's on a specialty. You could have an energy, and a physical hero, with double mages. Both could have lvl 20 magic use+ magic use items. Add onto your "skill" magic use, and its even more. Your mages will be extremly powerful, and you can kill almost anyone with sheer numberof mages. i have +15% atk for council of magii, 38 magic use for my hero, lvl 9 magic use skill. its easy enough to do almost any level without upgrading anyone. But hey, you can find out your best way of doing things

OMG, it has cactaurs. Thats all I can say. enemy units need to move faster in general though, sometimes, the game can feel quite slow, that being said, it is quite deep and intricate. Until you unlock Cultist blessed, that is.

To be honest, I wasn't a big fan of the first 3 games. They weren't bad, just not my favorites, but this one I'm really enjoying. Only problem I have is melee seems next to useless in most maps, either due to bad terrain or too many flying waves to make them useful, at least in my opinion. Other than that it's excellent.

Gragar: Consecration is a bonus element damage. Ex: A Paladin with fireelement, and consecration meets a baddie with fire weakness, he does bonus damage to this wave.

Can you pleeeeaaase sort the Talents so I can figure out which talent scrolls I got and which ones I need without having to search the whole list every time?

I must say the Protector team has indeed outdone themselves on this one! This is easily commercial worthy to the tune of 10 bucks or so, I seriously think they need to talk to Sony about this one and try to port it for the PS Store, I would buy it without a second thought considered the only other decent tower defense game for the system is Savage Moon. Only thing I still don't like (and haven't since the start) is that you can not sell or turn off towers (units)...I understand that is part of the strategy, but it would be nice to add a remove option before starting a wave in case you misplace a tower, could also use a buyback option from store as well, I kept selling things I was trying to give back to a faction on accident. This game is easily your best work yet, 7 out of 5!!!!

there NEEDS to be a way to sell because i got to a boss and it absorbed and regenerated everything but melee which was 2 guys, if i could sell i would be able to replace them
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
the only thing i hate is when there are flying units where melee cant hit and when theres barely any room to put units at beginning of some lvls

Quite fun, but you have to switch around items between every battle to be most effective. This would be less irritating if you didn't have to mouseover every item to see what it did. Needs a system where you can easily organize items by a particular stat (e.g. click "ranged combat" and it will show all the ranged combat items in order of strength).

I can't figure out which units have what elements. I've checked through the guides and everything. I really feel like I'm flying blind, and because of this I can't bring myself to enjoy this game enough to get past the insane learning curve. Honestly feels like a step down from the last protector game.

there need to be side goals such as "improve relations with the cult" from tyriana for 500 wealth to make the side quests meaningful
