Perhaps if I'd played the earlier versions I'd have a bit more idea what the heck's going on in this game.
When I get enough experience to upgrade a unit I get six icons - presumably some form of elemental abilities to choose (?) from. Unfortunately they're only about 3 pixels across so flip know what each one is supposed to be. I can't even tell if picking one of the other has any effect whatsoever. Fire is easy enough to spot, the smudge in the bottom right is possibly a fist, so Physical? Without any kind of tool tips I can't tell what the rest are supposed to represent.
I usually play through a series of level reasonably okay, only to have the last level usually walk past my units without taking much in the way of damage and losing instantly, which is a definite way to annoy players immensely.

Bug found and replicated once:
If you switch heroes and then place a unit, there's at least some chance that the just-placed unit will be placed using the previous hero's skills, but not elements.

this is a really stupid comment - but the only place where the element images are linked to the element names are in the intro. haven't found a reference in the protectopedia, either. is it possible to either make it consistent (i.e. only words or only icons), or at least add the word "fire" under the fire icon, when applicable?

hugoooo: there is a sell button, go to store and then click on the items you have in your "your items"-section, and then they're sold.

I think something needs to be done about melee/ranged. I find myself only using melee units if 1. There are only ground waves or 2. I have extra money. Maybe I'm alone in this though.

Absolutely awesome game. I think the only thing I would have done differently is to have the Technomancers trance dance while they attack.

Why do people keep asking for a sell button?????? The point is that you CAN'T sell the units, so you'll have to plan ahead.......

... Duh... Hydra Island is a place to reaaaallly quickly boost your heroes... 1.5k exp in less than 3 mins total with ANY (but physical) hero...

This game is very easy though. Invest in ranged fire. Then whenever you get money buy ranged gloves from the shop for +18 ranged bonus. Also buy the paving rings that give like +5 life. Buy 6 of those. Then go into battle with 3 heros. The fire with the +18 ranged. And two others that have a majority of the weaknesses with the 6 life rings. You can't lose. Also don't do missions that have no common weaknesses. Only do missions that have 2 or 3 and you'll win ervery time. 20 victories 3 losses here ^^

Seems like every other protector, melee units are still worthless and the there is a serious lack of diversity between units.

@GrandmasterSage: Stuff like that happened in the previous versions too. There's a random chance when placing a unit that it will get a 2x damage bonus or something like that, not exactly sure what it is, but there's a chance it will be more powerful than normal.

Awesome game, I love tower defense type games so I thought integrating it into the Protector series was cool. I also really like the throwback to Mount & Blade with the character creation, kudos to the developer for putting that in there :]

I like it, best one so far kinda like taking the factions from warlords and making them defenders. It's really cool i just wish the stat screen connected the defender groups with the names on the right side you can't tell what units are from what factions until you get a hero from the faction..otherwise flawless

Anyone else, having the problem that when a fight ends the sound from youtube turns off? It is kind of annoying but still quite fun =)

I basically played the entire game with Trainees. Once you get elemental switch items, you just use them. The debuff is superpowered and by using just one hero you get really powerful. The only issue is the very rare absorb with your main element, in which case you'd use another hero.

goes from quite easy to a little challenging to on the verge of rage quiting to easy to ... to got the badges :D to MUST GET EVERYTHING!!!!!!!

Probably too late for inclusion...but I really wish the "Protectamon" collection would show you the upgrade paths of the units. I agree part of the fun of the game is figuring that kind of thing out - but that seems like a reasonable middle ground. Alternatively, when you find one, or maybe when you reach a certain reputation with that group - maybe the upgrade paths can show up in the protectopedia.
