The main bother I've found with this game: 2 specific storyline quests that more or less FORCE you into getting a paladin on a hero or doing some really stupid far out strategy you need to perfect after 300 playthroughs of the same level.
Why are there no other units than the paladin with consecrate? >.<

where I can see the effect of debuff, consecrate and other abilities? The abilites don't have any explaination, so I feel a bit confused to choose.

So sad Watchers were weakened, were overpowered before though. BTW:some funny names were Harry Potter the Mage, Greg, Yes That Greg the Patrol man, Kitchen Sink the Gifted and Gandalf the Archmage

Somehow, when i quit and when i continue my save, i lose money. I had like 1800 gold (saving up for the Investment Scroll) and when i relogged, i only had 200? Show me the money!

There are lots of viable strategies for this game, but what worked best for me was using only the hero Givani the Gifted and only the Watcher unit that he has . Leveled up range in both my character and the hero. Once you've put 20 points into range on the hero and maxed it, start maxing elemental to add even more damage. On the Watcher unit skill tree, always take the path that gives them more damage per kill. The game was very easy this way and I basically never used any other heroes unless I just felt like it. I just kept an elemental switch of each type to ensure I could use him in the most effective way on each map. Buy him the Arrow Flingers from the Forest Friend's store and you've got the best item in the game for him.

best Melee Unit: Huscarl - lots of power upgrades. Yay!
Best Ranged Unit: Defender - lots of range, Anti-Air Boni, good speed

How is the score calculated?
i know you get score for the gold you spend.
but i'll finish a map with 11000 score, and then it'l say i got 15000. o.o does it say somewhere?

I think this is more of a strategy/defense game than an RPG/Adventure game. It does have an experience system but the gameplay is laid out in the classic tower defense fashion. Stationary attackers that can be upgraded. I realize there is an experience system used throughout/items/commanders/and that there is a storyline, But the game itself is really a defense and many strategy/defense games use these these same things.

Excellent, as all the others were, but it seemed to plateau a little quicker (difficulty-wise) than the others...once you can get heroes (with item help) to a point where their basic unit's attack type (Sword/Ranged/Magic) in the 10-12 range (with item help) and a few points in Tactics/Leadership/Logistics each, you could mow things down pretty quickly--especially toward the end, if you favoured the units of the factions that like you alot. It also would have been nice to have a little more variety on upgrade paths, but, had I played around with a few more factions' units more, I might have found some a little more to my liking.

OMG that game was long. I beat it in one day, it took me the entire afternoon and into the eavening. But the game was quite fun, a little bit easy.

nice but I liked the earlier versions. the quest idea and all the trinkets to get does add flavor, but also makes it impossible to lose - ie, you can grind to eventually get enough extras to win regardless. still, great execution here.

A way to sort items by specific stats affected (magic, special, ranged, loot chance, etc.) would be nice; so would having the shops refresh their stock every several completed missions. Other than those suggestions, I like this new entry in the series :]

i dont like the idea of flying units only because some of the units that "fly" look like the average guy could smack with his sword

If you look up Kongregate in the dictionary it say:

Quick comments: Melee units are almost completely worthless in this game. Ranged and Magic are superior in virtually every aspect, as missing out on attacking an entire class of enemies (Flying) is a huge detriment. Anything the melee classes can do, the ranged/magic do significantly better.

Completed with all achivements, like the rest of the protector-games ;)
I agree with most people, to many heroes*/skills/etc. Most maps reapare with a new "random" wave, not as much skill/thought as eralier games, to many other factors, and hard to get good heroes/much money. More like Protector 2-3 next time, and lesss pet protector, please?

I like the new upgrade. 5star over the old version. I would suggest adding a difficulty level selection. I find the default to be too easy.
