It was difficult to believe that the already great Protector series could get better after the 3rd one, but it seems that assumptions can be wrong. 5+/5

This is a deep game with a lot of great features for playing at work or casually where you might need to stop a lot. The only problem I had is the time sink if you come across a mission where the build you've been using and improving the whole game is useless so you need to spend a lot of time building up someone else in secondary missions. I found frost/fire to be a good build but people who want to just be poison or something might run into some trouble.

In the dialogue you get after beating your first mission and returning to base camp:
"For that your going to need to keep training your leadership,"
The first "your" should be "you're"

For the rest of us, that don't absolutely love your game cause its tower defense. We think this game is a step back in quality from what has been recently released. If I bring the wrong heroes I loose, I can't know what type of monsters really are going to be there, such as what resistances, I spend all my gold just on units and upgrades and it's still not enough. All the quests seem to be "normal" Where their are huge differences in difficulty. I can't quickly change between units on the battle field, if I messed up with my own creation, I am messed over. If I don't get to recruit the right heroes, game over again. I honestly can not see the fun in this game, when it doesn't have enough options to help you out. 2/5 I hope others may see that just because its a tower defense game, doesn't mean that it is a good game.

I've been playing undefined's games since I first played Defender at work and almost got caught :) every time I see a new one I freak with joy. Perhaps today is the day I'll get fired!

I just spent 2000 gold to get the "investor" skill from a scroll.. +5 gold after each quest.. so it will pay off after 400 quests???? This is is going to be a long game.

the element recommendations are REALLY flawed. A bad way to make newbies/anyone lose matches they don't need to. Please do not have the game determine element recommendations based on if mostly everything is weak vs a certain element, because ONE wave being strong vs that element can make using that element worthles. It's best to use an element that is at least neutral... and the game doesn't tell you which element that is.

fire/cold ranged heroes are the best.. you'll be using them most. poison/energy/phys is usually very poor, because in the random quests you will usually lose, because it will be weak vs poison/ener/phys and then one of the last waves will be strong vs whatever everything was weak to. with fire/ice i've had less trouble with this. Finally, the mages overall are just way better, and seeing as how I haven't seen a physical or poison mage hero, there is no point. Also, there is no point going melee, its useless to put all your gold into melee upgrades just to have it made utterly worthless later on in the quest.

@cooperton yes they are the different 'factions' if you click on one it say which it is on the top right. the glowing ones are story quest so i guess the others are optional.

So after a character reaches the next cost of 2050 exp for the next skill they are capped on exp? Not very much incentive to play a profile for long if my profile gets capped on exp in two hours.

Wut! Wut!?? I couldnt find any Protectomons when I replayed maps! But then I used some scroll of looting 100%. And I found 5 Protectomons in the 3rd map... sounds like its more then just 100% item drops.. ;P

i just do not like the pure luck on heroes, I desperately miss the old system where you can answer elemental depend on the situation! You often die because you do not have the heroes you need for a quest. Interesting and good new stuff added but i do not like the bonus from hero XP. I think it would be much better if you can upgrade the Hero like the old System, so you can start with an cheap advanced mage as example because you gained enough XP and not because you have enough gold... the ingame leveling as example for the outgame tech tree... i do not know why it needs 3 xp gain systems, total confusing...

acually 100% means you'll find something but 120% means you have a 1?5 chance to find TWO things instead of one (which you still get) anyways this is an amazing game and is a giant leap foward number one was basic, hard, and long number was, so far, the best in the series (what i think) and number three was downright confusing. yhis a good combination of the three games and is very well executed. thank you for not going into a rapid decline and destroying yourself

just too hard.
During one quest, you have only ground round then BAZINGA : a massive flying round crush you.
If you got wrong heroes, you're pretty much screwed.
Item things are a good idea but the system itself is pretty bad : click / click / click / oh wait, i forgot to remove this item from this heroe / click / click / click ...
I don't want to click like 9000 times to get the good items : add a recommand items buttons.
Store = never used it, becaus i found the exact same thing on a battleground for free.
Explorer camp = what the difference between 100 % efficiency and 120 % efficiency ?

meh most of the time you'll be using mages...heres why they have uber range their damage aint too shabby they have great status effects like slow and amplify...not only that thay can hit flying units so im wondering why even bother with swordsmen THEY ARE YOUSE LESSSSSS!!!!
