How to get all the protectomon:
On the map "the great Hydra" place 4 gentlemen units. give your hero chance to loot gear and upgrade the gentlemen with a balance of damage and looting. Best run: 8 protectomon

Man I'm so glad I did everything in the game a couple days ago. Just loaded up my save and got all the badges instantly. Feels so good.

Since the badges were added, Advisor Gordon changed element to Ice for no apparent reason, and item-switch equips aren't having any effect on him. Bizarre. =/

Wolfaux: First off, Scavengers don't steal, they increase your chances of finding items from any enemies they kill. Stealing gives a chance per hit of getting some extra Gold, which seems to be added directly to your Gold in that level.

What do you do after the main quest?
Any map i choose, I can finish it just by placing 10 or so mages without upgrading and without concern for the elemental differences... do the random quests get harder?

lord0216: Protectomons are collectibles that increase the base damage of a unit by 1. There's one for each type of unit in the game, like Trainees, Footmen, and Crossbows.

dbruser: The fist symbol is Physical, flames are Fire, snowflake is Ice, lightning bolt is Energy, and the tree-looking thing is Poison.

It is so awesome, but I wish there was a confirmation button when selling items. My mouse sucks, and it makes me click the wrong items, thus making me lose some of my best items.

darkboy: You don't need to do anything to the heroes at your camp. Any new heroes that become available will replace the old ones you haven't taken. It seems to be random which ones get replaced, though.

I completed the storyline before the badges, but I didn't get the one for completing the storyline. I re did the final mission but that didn't help, has this happened to anyone else?

when it has the screen that tells how much exp the hero got from the last battle, you can delete what it says and type in random stuff. it doesn't have any use at all btw

Watcher is by FAR the best unit in the game. Placed well and upgraded right, you can EASILY be dealing 2-300 damage each hit by the end of the level. If you dont have this unit, I suggest getting it asap! The hero I have with it is from the cult of sakran. Also, a side note, the ability to dismiss ppl on the map would be nice... even without getting anything back from it, just to get them out of the position they are in

Fantastic! And only the first level played so far! The best Protector yet, taking the core game of the first three protectors and expanding, with story, graphics, and so much more. Undefined is one of the best developers yet. Five stars, and favorited.

Wow! Awesome! This was definately a major evolution when compared to Protector I. Hard to believe how it changed so many times.

bug wise, I see scouting reports showing [flying] [flying] Waves. Also, on the hero select screen when starting a quest, the scouting report's (thanks for adding that) colors are super dark/muted; hard to tell what each wave is.

When you have decent across the board faction(get it from doing the story line) nd have some gold to spare, hire all the crappy heroes hogging the camp then fire them. You'll start getting 300+gold heroes coming to camp that start off with much better skills once per quest so long as there's a slot in camp. You can then use scrolls to turn them into whatever Element you want and give them whichever units. Highly recommend looking at the 'Wizard' base unit from the council. 3 range 10 damage 5 speed skill paths are slow, damage, element exploit. Wish I could find a 3 range elite caster with debuff.

Original Protector is superior to this version imo. The hero/inventory/element swapping systems create unnecessary downtime from the core of the game. I thought this was an amazing game until I tried the first Protector. As implemented, the hero system subtracts enjoyment from the actual tower defense game for me. I wish I knew about this series before now though, it is far superior to other tower defense games (only competition being Desktop Tower Defense Pro, and Cursed Treasure). All in all, too much fluff- take out the hero/item swapping system and you are left with a winning formula. As another commenter put it: "I liked Protector better without heroes."

I've been playing this game since back when there was only the original "protector" game. I liked the 1st and 2nd, didn't like the 3rd, but I love this 4th game :)

got an thunder hero w/ skill total 8 that makes engineers! And I got a fire element switch item... the game just changed from difficult to SUPER EASY
