Beezer, it's because each enemy only gives like 1 xp. You have to either concentrate all your xp gain on a very few number of units, or make do with 5000 non upgraded guys

Path To ShoreView is Easy, Just hire 1 mage in the middle square
Lvl 2- Poison
Lvl 3- Infect
Lvl 4- Specialism
Lvl 5- Inflictor
Lvl 6- Large Increase
Lvl 7- Specialism
Lvl 8- Large Increase
Lvl 9- Holy Light

On Path to Shoreview, all the waves except the first few have high armor. The last guy has a TON of armor. I'm not sure it can be done with archers or warriors. It can be done with only 1 mage though.

so I get all the way to the last guy on Path to Shoreview - then my fully upgraded archers and warriors do NO DAMAGE whatsoever to the lizard guy - am I missing something here?

Captured Shipyar was pretty easy in my opinion. I'm having way more trouble with the New Throne.
For captured shipyard you're looking to fill the spaces they gave you with tacticians specced physical with consecrate. Focus each upgrade on damage and put them down from left to right. Make sure the ones on the left are the first you upgrade.
I beat it without losing a single life.
Anyone want to share some tips for the new throne?

I've beaten Captured Shipyards on normal and Hardcore modes. It's not impossible.
Hint: Use warriors only. Start from the back and work your way to the front.

I love the first protector, and was happy to play the sequel, but the "Captured shipyard" level is simply impossible. I've tried several configurations, and they all fail sooner or later (level 19 was my best).
A challenge is nice. Making things impossible is just annoying.

well duhh ak3HH is a tower defense game. And you have to strategize. The enemies have strengths and weaknesses. Every level has something you'd like though when you get into it. And music is great.

Archers allow your warriors, who hit much harder than mages, to hit flying creatures. If you don't like to use mages much, or have a decked out warrior skill page, it's very useful to make your first 1-2 warriors archers.

The game is great, but I will have to admit that it has some flaws in the whole concept.
First of all, its not really a td game. Its more like a quiz : find out what is the answer skill buildup to each stage. After you get the right buildup, all you have to do is build towers, usually only one or two kinds, and level it up when they accumulate enough exp.(maybe its not a flaw, just most people expect a TD game at the first glance)
Secondly, the game is really "too" hard for most people. Most users will stop playing at the medium levels.
On other aspects, the game is awesome, and those who enjoy hard thinking will love the game.

Fancypantsrules, i think you should do the other maps before that one, with more skills, its easier. But i agree that it is difficult.
