a cold mage doing poison damage is weird but still it makes the game more enjoyable because of the different routes one can take
overall 4/5

This edition of protector seems to require more strategy than its predecessor, and I appreciate that. Some of these types of games get repetitive very quickly, but I have been having a lot of fun working my way through this one.
It seems like the biggest complaint in the comments is that each element has the functionality of every other element. I agree that this is a major step backwards. That poison slowly took away the life of the enemy gave poison mages their own unique flair. This edition's elements are flavorless.

There are all sort of way to "infect" a monster depending on Dmg type - Posion is the most obvious choice but not the only - Perhaps Boiling/burning blood? Frozen Air? Electical nerve dmg etc etc etc

I do like the game; the only real problem I have it that in games generally you start with archer, warrior, mage and/or rogue, and in this, if you prefer archers, you will lose most of the time before you can get a warrior levelled to archer. As for the "infect" parameter, I think you should just change the names to something more relative to the element, keep everyone from whining.

monstro22 gem craft is basically the same thing except this game has more units and gem craft is a bit harder
gemcraft and hard?....only the first epic can be a challenge - after you got pure gem mastery and tier 5/6 gems you can't lose a level....for the protector maps you must find a strategy first^^

I dunno, I don't find it confusing at all. If you prefer GemCraft, why not ask GemCraft's author about the science behind gems that can attack enemies with balls of energy? Realism isn't everything...

Ya seriously how could a cold fire or energy mage poison a monster? Lol infect should only be available for poison mages.

The magic upgrades don't make much sense; why would a cold mage be able to do poison damage? Where does that leave my posion mage? And the skill tree takes itself way too seriously. This game is really pretty and all, but it seems that too little thought went into actually make it fun and player-friendly. Sorry, I prefer GemCraft too.

There's like a 1mm gap between the new tab button and the top of the screen...my finger slipping a tiny bit does not make me an idiot.

For christs sake make the kongregate links open in a new window or something.I go to open a new tab whilst i'm waiitng for the last couple of waves to finish and accidently hit the upload button, so it destroys that level that took ages.

I loved the original Protector, and I'm glad there is another one. However, after completing the first version, I was a little surprised to find that this version is amazingly hard. On Normal difficulty I am having to replay most levels so many times it's taking the enjoyment away. Any chance of adjusting the difficulty modifiers a little? On the plus side, I love the new look, congrats on a great game.

Great game, and as soon as you get the hang of it better than the first one.
What I don't like though, is that all maps where recycled (are there any new ones at all?) and the worst thing is the split waves not evenly distributed, so your units get different amounts of XP although they are mirrored (had to restart fallen mine several times as one mage didn't reach lvl5 before wave 4 because of that...)
At least you already fixed the "wave browser for talents thingy" already ;)
Keep up the good work.

Ayc always... maybe its because they're fighting against flying enemies? Warriors can't hit them, only mages ^_^
Good game ovarall 5/5

I really like the role playing elements of this game however it still feels like basicly the same game as it's predecessor... 4/5

Nox9407: The level is easy if you use one mage central and make him an infector that specialises in it. armour on the boss is too good for anything else to hit. You should be able to level him to the max and make him holy.

There seems to be a problem with the early level "Path to Shoreview". According to the level, the boss on the last wave is strong against Energy, weak against Poison and that's it. None of my warriors (or a mage i made to test it) were able to hit him at all and I don't think he is mistakenly set as a flier either because my one archer couldn't hit him either. Maybe he has really high dmg resist or something so I'll try it again some time with those skills, but if that's not the case don't waste time on that level.

Definition of a glitch :
A sudden interruption in electric service, sanity, continuity, or program function. Sometimes recoverable. An interruption in electric service is specifically called a "power glitch" (or power hit), of grave concern because it usually crashes all the computers.
a glitch is more like a bug that happens for example because of electrical reasons in the computer.
geez people..
