Dude! You just completed the Legendary Protector achievement in Protector and won the Legendary Protector badge and 30 points!
-_- What a huge waste of my time.

Really really really really needs a speed-up option. And "retry previous wave" would be awesome too. Otherwise a great game.

Being an old-time Warcraft III ROC player, I always enjoyed TD games. This is one of them and a good one, may I add. Now, as for specific tactics, I recommend having multiple well-spread poison mages throughout the map - don't have the in clusters as their special won't stack. A single mage does the trick. Then have a cluster of fire mages and a single frost mage (for slowing down bosses) some specific place on the map where the creep come twice. Also have a single or maybe two slightly spread purple mages in your cluster of blue and (mostly) red mages. I don't know if I made myself clear, but this tactic got me through all the medium levels and I feel it's good enough for the hard ones too - I never seem to lose more than 5 lives on any given map. Regarding the advanced units, it says in the protectopedia (lame name btw) that alchemist/necromancer combo should be nice, so I'm gonna try spicing my formula up with them. GL

found useful bug; if 1 of you guys are level-up-ready and you have gold for the next level too, level up, specialist, and QUICK click and level up again

This is a great game, and not too difficult. Just make sure you look ahead at the weaknesses of all enemies coming up in the next five rounds and build defenses accordingly. For beginners, I recommend specialized archerers, which you can unlock pretty early in the skills section. They help take out flying units that your knights can't hit. Also, in a long match, build specialized mages in critical spots to slow and poison units. Everyone else should be general to do the most damage. The most important specialization is energy mages, as they can make units more vulnerable to other types of attacks.

the last mage skill is overpowered, as others have said. Slow is pointless, necromancers are too slow, and dexers/chiv dexers are useless compared to mages with +1 range, but other than that the units are fine. Levels built to accomodate a specific strategy would be nice - it seems as if they were somewhat created that way, but every so often a wave comes that seems to be custom-fit to get through your layout. Levels get easy to beat when you can just spam units - increasing the rate/benefits of levelup while decreasing the price, combined with an increase in unit cost, would fix that. Tip for others: use poison.

Mainland Mines was still doable (after 6 tries or so), but I'm obviously too dumb to beat other medium levels. It's simply too hard, either you figure out a very specific damage/level combo , or you suddenly get overrun by one or two waves that simply overpower you. Looking for this combo and takin notes while trying to beat a level 10+ times is simply too much. Very interesting game, but the difficuilty ruined it for me.

Great game! One problem imo: Mainland Mines is too difficult. I finished it some days ago, but I had a lot of trouble with it.
Other people have trouble with it too.

Amazing game; really solid defense maps, plus the skill system makes for interesting choices and additional diversity. I like it a lot.

How can you rate this game low? Besides the pace of the game everything is fine. Just because you arn't good at this game doesn't mean you can proclaim it by adding 1/5.

aint 97 for easy marathon, build 1 red mage in the middle and also two dexers in the middle, and level the red mage up, and wait after that till you have 25gold and buy another red mage on the opposite side as the first, the keep upgrading them and buying more red units that you have nearly all grandmasters, and then start buying necromancers. LEVEL ALL YOUR GUYS UP ON GENETICS, OR THE ONE THAT GIVES YOU MORE POWER.

good game but slooooooooowwwwwww. I wish there was an option to increase game speed and also initiate another wave even before the current one is completed.

Slow paced game that was Perfectly upgraded from the Basic game that includes the exact same thing just no skills at the end of each level. Way to make something that was good and keep it the exact same thing with alittle tweaks and make it better.

@Pontifex: the first little part is a qoute from the guy asking for help.....they way i posted it is just the way i did it i put 1 chiv dexer on the left then all the rest dexers then work on upgrading the Chiv Dexer the most and when you cant usually upgrade the normal dexers :P

On beating the rat trap - only dexers. Every single square, dexers, dexers and more dexers. Doesn't matter, just use a dexer. It got me through.

@MasterNinja: Swordsman upgrade to max and in this lvl buy only them (oh... You can also take 2*3 lives - but if your troops take many critical You will not need them)

To the developer-first boss (5th wave) of the medium, 25 wave docks level- the strength seems to be stated wrong. it says fire and absorb, but my fire mages hit it normally. SW continent

@Zaxdad:Okay, can someone give me some pointers on The Rat Trap… the Hard level, little island with all the rats. I always die on the 9th out of 10 waves. I have all but that and the last Hard marathon done so I have plenty of skill points. Any hints to getting that one done? if you didnt finish it by now use this technique:put all points into persuader dexers chiv dexers and extra lives and then put a chiv dexer in the middle on the point sticking out
