took 12 hours to get the hard badge >_< damn lack of preview making me get pwned by final waves a few times. After a while I realised that rather than using advanced units it was better to just spam 20 gp mages of all colours all over the map and not bother to upgrade beyond lvl 2 or 3.

It's a decent game, your typical TD. Nothing really special about it. It's not bad, not horrible. Just..average. Dunno why it has such a high rating and Best of 2008. The one issue is the lack of a FF. It takes...so damn long. I'm so bored with having to watch every single enemy get killed. Especially when there 40 f*ckin waves! How could they not have fixed this after all the comments about it?? Also I wish you could move or sell units. Overall, good, not great and way, way,...WAYYY too slow. It's going to take me like 45 minutes at least to get though this many waves. There are much better TD games out there

@TomK38 As someone who played this game when it first came out on Kongregate, I can assure you that it did in fact used to have a wave preview feature. I probably couldn't have gotten all the badges without it. It's only been in the past year or two that they got rid of it for some reason.

A bit to slow but a decent Td overall. One thing I would like is the ability to click skills to remove them instead of having to reset all the skills each time you want to adjust a few. keep up the good work.

I wish for just one thing: A way to review the wave AFTER you have already seen the wave review thing before the wave and BEFORE the wave comes!
4/5

Honestly, in my personal opinion, this game needs a lot of changes. It's horrible the way the system is set up. One: I can't sell my units after I have bought them. Two: It's basically set up so you /have/ to be using the right attribute to the monster. Three: It takes way too long per level. If I want to spend 30-45 minutes playing one level, I'd start playing World of Warcraft.
Four: Apparently there was a wave preview bar or something of that sort that made the game slightly easier, I think that might of made it slightly better... But as is, 2/5

You know, removing the wave-bar is one thing, but to keep the first wave a secret untill you press start is another ._. Still, I think I've benefited from the removed wave-bar... I stopped thinking and now I just have a general strategy :p

Perfect game to play while waiting for energy to replenish on clash of the dragons trololol :p Ive always liked this game though :)

You could save so much time by eliminating failed attempts at levels if you could see the enemy line-up before you placed all of your units... :(

Major problem with the balancing of the game is that the special units are almost NEVER useful because of how expensive they are. As much as I want to use a necromancer, I can't bring myself to do it because of how long it takes to build one, and then how much longer it takes for it to actually deal appreciable damage

Tactics to win everything: Starting from the back, fill all good spots before leveling anything to 3. Have a mix of melee units and at least 2 types of mages. When screen is full, level everything to max, again starting from back and balancing elementals out. Advanced units aren't worth the $, except for archers in the Forest level where everything is Flying. Don't pave except to create super-good spots, cuz paving is more expensive (per attack point) than to level stuff to 3+. 1 debuff mage in front of a clutter of men is extremely useful.

this is not fair!!!! go to village of skipper- level and to wave 10.. there will be fallen alchemist... it is weak to melee but melee does not damage it :d

@N7791: I'd say this needs tactics. It's more fun than the others, as you don't know whats coming, so you have to build a defence worthy to stop anything. You can't go all out red mages, nor all out dexers. It requires skill. As I said, I think this is better than a fair few of the others. I'm not a fan of the "Mercenary" ones for example.

This game, unlike sequel Protector 4 for example, has absolutely no tactical/strategical dimension, since you never know what's coming. Moreover, because of the lack of fast forward button, who would waste almost hours per level to find out? It's a shame, but I'll grab those medium badges in the long term, and give up.

Pro tips:splash damage can never kill a monster,it has to be directly targetted, take this into consideration when creating your builds.pair upsplash with a fast hitter like an archer.press+button so that a newbie can become a pro

1-5....immune to my only buffed damage type and wasted 38 waves to get knocked down 38 lives from one wave cause they were immune...lame.
