To me, Level 4 is a piece of cake. I beat it with casualties of one Scorpion Tank lost and my Annihilator with only one bar of health lost. How I did it: Keep your Scorpions and Flak in a defensive postition against the east, south, and north as you advance. Keep the Flak Tank slightly behind the Scorpions. Remember that the Flak Tank one-hits spiders, and while the Scorpion has more armor and stronger firepower it tends to do better breaking barricades. The Annihilator can one-hit Spiders as well and should be the sturdy warhorse throughout the ambush, sticking right by the Mortar and Rocket trucks. While the Mortar and Rocket Trucks must be alive in the end, the Annihilator and Scorpions are almost as nessesary. Try to destroy Spider Tanks while they're still in the mountains, and keep carefully out of range of the others untill you're sure you can kill them in one turn. ;)

warelord level 4 is not to hard.....move forward slow with scorpion tank and aa truck.. and behind that missle and flak cannon truck and behind that mammoth tank...make a convoy easiest way to do it...artillery in the middle is best because they can help the front or the back...theres ur tip

An excellent game, I really enjoyed the strategy involved. The new airship is devastating if used correctly. The only complaint I have is that several times the game froze on some kind of animation (like a vehicle being destroyed) and the game ceased to move. The chat window and all other kongregate functions still worked, just the game itself was stuck. I've never encountered this on any other game so I'm reluctant to think it is my computer, but it was very frustrating to have to start some of these long missions over when I was very near the end. Other than that, 5/5

level 4 very hard but you have to be patient wait till their money goes down get both the rocket and mortar trucks at a distance you can shoot with both of them which is where they always send their units to the same spot once they run out can cant buy a unit every turn thats when you move slowly around. (note you only need to keep one of them alive until you destroy the tank behind the mountain.

Level 4 is impossible. Even on the easiest I can't manage to get either the mortar or the rocket truck to the Scorpion tank alive.

The reason you lost, XxPretigousxX, is the you lack stradegy and, no mater wht you think, getting F***ed does not help you play stradegy games...

Well, it's exactly the same as previous Battalion games, and the same strategies are still broken. If you want to have it easy, just turtle up with a bunch of rocket launchers (or battleships if available) and the ai will keep sending its units to certain death. If needed, block the enemy away with fighters, pick off all his anti-air, and laugh at the infantry and tanks that sit helplessly behind the fliers, waiting for a rocket to fall on them.

A lot of you think level 4 is hard. For an easy(ish) victory, keep your rocket tank back towards the starting position with your annialator protecting it. Then use the mortar, scorpian, and flank tanks to charge the base. Use your mortar tank to kill the scorpian tank stuck next to the unit maker.

i played straight through on hard, no problems, in all honesty a bit too easy, but still a good game, love the series mate, 5/5 again :)

Arachnaphobia[sic] actually requires no luck at all - just that you keep your units alive to the end. Go through the level cautiously and slowly and use Mortar to one shot Spiders. Keep your tanks out of range and take the time to heal any that get hit. If you lose either Rocket OR Mortar you can't win this level (at least on Hard). The first turn (lower left of map) is a good place to use ranged units + Flak to ambush Spiders with no losses indefinitely. While they hold that fort send tanks to kill barricades. If you can't get ranged Mortar to kill Spider use Annihilator because it can take a beating and heal up instead of just croaking. Once you've made it to the enemy camp get the Mortar 3 squares above the Warfactory and kill the Spider that is produced every turn. Until you mop up the rest of the Spiders keep the Mortar well protected with a blanket of the remaining [expendable] tanks. Use rocket to kill the lone enemy Scorpion and you've won - congrats.

This series continues to be one of the finest examples of turn based STRATEGY. It is one of the few where planning and precision pays off over simply massing whatever hits hardest. The one infuriating thing is when I lose a unit and I have no idea why. Usually an attack from a Scorpion or Flak will kill a Spider in one hit but sometimes they don't and get reamed by the counter-attack (no terrain bonuses/penalties). One thing I keep noticing is that units seem to do less damage when they have less health. It is an interesting design decision in that I can see how it enhances the strategy aspects of the game (i.e. making it more desirable to attack rather than counter-attack) but it really sucks that after taking an Annihilator hit my own Annihilator, now at 20% health, does about 20% damage to the attacker - not cool! Since this comment is already quiet long I will post my strategy for Arachnaphobia [sic](it's arachnOphobia) separately so that it can be kept alive without my mutterings.

This was a great game. I can say it's one of the few flash games I've invested more than 10 hours playing and actually completed all the goals and achievements in. Really worthwhile and very difficult at times.
It's not a frequent occurrence to see games that have high replay value or actual strategic thinking involved, but this game is a prime example of both. Worthwhile to anyone looking for a console-quality game but free and Flash-based.

Arachnophobia is the most irritating level of any game I've ever experienced. Ever. It's not even challenging. It's just dumb luck.

Game has glitches. Occasionally the side scroll arrows stop working. Also, game tends to freeze after save+quit reload.

@Desfi
Use Troopers(Not Rocketeers) And Hover them Over the Place You Want To Capture Protect Them For 4 Or So Turns, TADA! You Have Captured Las Vegas(Not Really) ;)

Geeze, Arachnophobia takes bleeding forever! Have to use the rocket to lure the spiders into range of the mortar, while clearing the road, and then it's just over a dozen boring turns killing them until he runs out of resources. Fail!

Level 4 is not that hard. Keep those spiders under control until the opponent have no resources left and every other turn it will not produce them and you can move around as you like.
Place the mortar truck one/two steps to the left of the bottom mountain and the rocket truck further back and you can take out one spider each turn while your annihilator clear the road.

the comp is still stupid after playing advanced wars days of ruin i knoticed that this ones retarted :/ way tooo easy even on hard 3/5

and GenericJoe, I completely agree. I think the key has got to be the order of movements, and how long it takes to move, but I am still hammering at it...

I really, really like this series... the story in the 3rd section here does not quite seem to match the rest of the story given before, but the tactics and gameplay make up for it for me...

Level 4 on Hard is too difficult compared to the rest of the game. It doesn't make sense that the later levels are easier than one of the earliest levels.
