If you want to own the flying Dutchman:
1. use the ship of the line because its made for combat not trading
2. max upgrade it for haul and damage
3. use only dynamite for each shot
4. aim only at flying Dutchman's haul nothing else
Have fun and vote for everyone to see!

Oh wow. I was struggling for a while on the ghost ship until I read a comment on the stars. Not at all obvious that you can click on the star in the port and get upgrades.

within top left ship.. it shows that boss is weaker.. but when you got top right ships.. you can hit first. =I . but top left has less hp a lot.. and dies faster.?

the order of attacking in ports is a port hits you first.. . the order of hitting that weakest hits first is at the sea.! . and when you gotten right top ship for your 3 spots.. and get money.. and then.. i did use dynamite and hull hitting to the boss.. and not much time until it died. . Really Awesome Game! . 5/5 ! and to the favorite list right away!!!

Very good game. Simplified Pirates. For all you struggeling with the Boss, remember to use your stars to upgrade your stats by clicking the star on left when in town. I found this after trying and failing last fight four times.

Trading is totally broken. I managed to make over 3 million gold just moving bananas, rice, and corn between the first two ports. At some point, I was just doing it because I could.

The weakest fleet attacks first.
That is kinda of a lie, my boats have like 100 hp and medium dmg, and when i attack ports, ships have 370 hp and isane dmg, and they still attack first, not to mention if the fleet have same ships as me, they attack TWICE, where mine just attack once!

There should be one of those "ultimate ships." For example, a black metallic titanic ship... or something like an alien or ghost ship.

Huge problem. If the ship that is up to attack first next round is disabled, you can't do anything but retreat/end turn. Please address this ASAP. Other than that and some relatively minor things that have already been mentioned, great game.

Trading is a waste of time as it makes almost no money. As a result, upgrading cargo capacity, and the whole cargo ship upgrade tree are a waste of time.

Fun but the only part I don't understand is action points seem arbitrary if one of your ships sink. I've got 70+ remaining but can only retreat or end turn until I lose.

still cant defeat flying dutchman, have ship of the line with all upgrades. using dynamite and quick shot when attacking. dont know what to do

Well I can either fire over sixty cannon balls at them or board their ship and kill all of their crew... Why don't we do both?

Great at first, but then it just gets repetitive
You buy cheap items, and sell them for expensive prices. Keep doing that 1 million times. Once you get a lot of money, destroy the very weak ships that are scattered around the area. Buy better ships with larger cargo, and better attack attributes. Wash, rinse, and repeat. Once you get strong ships, attack an island. Keep doing that until you reach the ghost ship. Have fun grinding!

@rainyrainy The price it shows you before buying a ship is the price after trade-in of your old ship. The price after is the total including trade-in.

crew also affects AP, also when you buy ships, you sell yours first so that in the end your ship and cargo are subtracted from the prices of buying ships, so even if it says "9200" you are actually not paying all of that.

There's something wrong with the ship prices. You pay way more than the message says. (for example: cog 8000 - actual payment 9200.) you might want to look into it. Seems like the pirates are stealing money while we're buying ships.
