The UI is a bit cluttered graphically and there is a bit of grinding necessary at a couple points in the game but otherwise this was a ton of fun - a solid 3+ hours of gameplay.

Minor Issue: All text should be draw *after* any graphics. Boarding chance for the middle vessel is hidden behind the lower one.

Here's a hint: You'll want *LOTS* of gold when you face the boss. (You'll find out why the first time you lose and compare how much you had vs. how much you lot.) Losing to him is the fastest possible way to earn points, but you'll need to do a lot of cagy trading in high-value commodities, first.

It is a bit frustrating trying to figure out which ships to get, when the upgrades are all over the place. Could you please add in the maximum values in the ship info box? For example, for the galleon, Instead of "250 hull", make it "250 (365) hull", so we understand what the fully upgraded ship will be like?

Well, I feel stupid. After losing to the ghost ship several times with maxed Ship of the Lines and dynamite hull shots, I realized there are stat bonuses to be had by clicking the star on a log thingie.

Okay, so I lost my first battle, and then every battle I entered after that I would immediately lose. Apparently that happens unless you buy repairs for your ship. But I had just bought an upgrade to my ship's hull and didn't have enough gold to repair it. So, I'm stuck? I can't find any way to gain enough gold now to repair my ship...

@cajun524: Well, how much run is one unit? Is one unit one bottle or one barrel? If it is a barrel, then it could easily be worth more than one ring.

It says that every year the pirate has to take a natural red-head to be immortal, but the last girl he took wasn't a natural red-head so he was vulnerable. I completed the game in 424 days. I was wondering, 424 days are more than a year, didn't he captured another red-head girl?

Interesting and fun game. Gets a bit grind-y at the end, after conquering the last city, when you need the best ship with all the upgrades to beat the boss.

want a nice little starting boost? buy and sell the same goods repeated at your first port and you lose no money but gain the achievement bonuses.

How do I die with one shot at full health when i get with a 7? and how come Im FORCED to skip my turn allowing my opponent to attack twice?

"Aim Hull" does more damage to health, "Aim Crew" makes it easier for you to board the ship, "Aim Sails" lowers the enemy ship's AP (under 15 and they surrender.) To defeat the ghost ship more easily, max out your damage and hull upgrades for the strongest ship on the right branch and only do hull shots with dynamite until you can only do quick shots. Should be an easy boss battle that way. As for the game: 5/5, love it. :)

I enjoyed the game, but I agree with other players.. wouldve been nice if the cities were rated as well. Also the end is very anti-climatic. 3 stars

best way to get war points for upgrades is to attack high level groups of ships, due to you getting to hit them first you can use the 1.5x and 3x attacks to sink them fast and take no damage so that you dont need to go to port so often
also you can only board ships when you have ships of 35 AP or higher

bluh, fighting the ghost ship takes a ton of money. If you play right, you'll just have it when you're ready to fight, but if you lose (and I did) you'll be knocked back down to nothing, so you gotta grind. No thanks. I don't need the 15 points that bad. x.x

well... after playing this a bit i think i figured out what the crew/sail does... they're like hull but with the AP, the more you have the better it resist attacks from other ships, also, sail increase the range in wich your ship can move, and crew act as a resistance to boarding... i think...? damn things need labels, seriuosly...
