I make my way quickly down the halls. I hear the feet of my pursuers i launch a quick dart their way then keep running. I pass the hill of bodies I had made earlier in the living room. But as I hear the shot fire I know it's too late, I scream in pain as i feel the fatal wound. It severed my brain stem in half.
"Well," I chuckled to myself. "At least I had fun."

The jugular is an artery, a major blood vessel, once ruptured it is almost always fatal. Also, with people complaining that the toe isn't major, it is the longest nerve in the body, and while not losing the toe itself is fatal the shock CAN ( not always, but can) be enough to stop a heart.
