well, if you want to go crazy, you can do level 5 without launchers.
you have to spam the map with tech domes and reactors before you get serious about attacking the bottom section.
@ nutslap: use LAUNCHERS. they are more than 3x as efficient as blasters against super-dense creeper.

Yes, pig, it is possible to clear level 5 using no mortars. I got my time just under 15 minutes for that style just now.
you have to set up a ton of reasearch, let them run for a while, then kill them off to make room for reactors when you've got the important tech-namely, a max of one rate upgrade, 1-2 range upgrades, and maxed reactor efficiency.

The secret is: attack the bottom section with launchers not blasters. don't build a lot of launchers untill you have the energy to support them.
note: it CAN be done under 20 minutes without launchers, but you really, REALLY need to know what you're doing. (balance upgrades, energy, etc. etc. )

i think a lot of people get mixed up with micro rifts and think they just produce power but they dont, they just teleport things to different spots and if you can make micro rifts in 2 different spots u good to go it mostly useful to teleport 1 thing to another

the best use for repulsor isnt to keep creeper drones at bay...or not totaly...for me it is to throw into creeper into a certain position

I have to agree with you hobson. The shields are designed with the one purpose of controlling the flow of friendly creeper.

The main reason I prefer creeper world 1 over this one is that there's really no... pressure... most of the time. Generally it starts out in a contained area with no way to get out, which means you can just build your infrastructure up until you're ready to bust it out. As opposed to one, where you had to rush to a defensive posture before you could properly build up.

also on level 8 i save the ghost for last. BUT YOU CAN BE TROLL TO THE GHOST killing it WITH REPULSORS. cause eventually creeper will dissipate cause of a low level. THIS IS VERY TIME CONSUMING THOUGH so i used some launchers arming and disarming occasionally.

build an 3x3 area of shields somewhere where creeper will get to leave the middle open(thats where you put your anti creeper) put some amount of anti creeper in the middle then put a shield over that(this will not get rid of your creeper). then get rid of the surrounding shields and when the shield holding the anti creeper is destroyed. ANTI CREEPER EXPLOSION.

(except for final level) Use maker's fully charged, send them into the heart of the Creeper then unless it's destroyed(it will still burst) press the burst Button

I like creeper world 2 better, pity there haven't been any new levels in a while. Preferred the plot of the first one though

lvl 10 can be done in bot 4 and a half minutes and doesnt need any blasters (on the right part), just a few on the left.

I used about 8 blasters on lvl 10 and took my time about it. The trick is getting their range and rate of fire up. Took me 18 minutes for the whole mission
