Wednesday, Jan 4th, Sadistic. The descriptor must be capitalized due to the immensity of the feeling towards this level. Whoever designed that one was just mean. 50 mins just to squeak by, not getting everything under control just to toy with the survival, but trying desperately to get through it.

The only reason that makes you lost in survival mode is emitters will spawn more and more creeper than previous time.

@firewarrior: You mean you want to know why the range limit for an Odin City-relay connection isn't as long as a relay-relay connection? It's because Odin City isn't a relay.

I started a mission and immediately clicked survival to see if you could just fly the city around indefinitely.. but eventually it blew up D:

can someone explain why my relay works over 5 to 7 spaces in one spot and then doesn,t work when it's 2 spots away from odin city?

@GreatManBear: the Odin city's output limit should be 32. It was 32 in the "training sim" and "user space". CW2:Academy seems to has the same limit of 32. The desktop, "full" version had it lifted to 64 (I don't know about CW2 full version), but the online versions never followed.
It seems to me, however, that unless you have the "build things 20% faster" upgrade, you will only get 31,5. Also, if you have no storages at all, the limit will be 20, Odin city storatge capacity. Hope that clears it up.

@greatmanbear - it looks like you've got a max output of 32. You won't get above that, unfortunately. (Dang it, I think I could 'win' in survival mode if I could just get ALL The output of a half-map of reactors out to the mortars!)

so aparently when you take over an hour the creeper mass produce... this was probably in the last game but i guess i was faster at the maps back then... now i understand why the city thing cant stay on one planet....

Alternate way to approach Jan 4 (just slapped together quickly with a few ugly mistakes, can be faster) http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/4094/creepjan4.jpg Depends on how brave you are, you can always build 3 or 4 blasters and just jet to the middle and build from there too.

Did you guys cap the amount of energy that can be used? The thought occurred to me playing the survival mode. The energy usage was much less than energy collected in spite of the fact that most units were low on ammo. Is there a transportation limit imposed by flash itself? I think it was in the neighborhood of 30 where this happened.

GreatManBear, I do most maps in 5-8 minutes without bridging (keeping the city or attacking unit in the air to make a connection), Jan 4 took me 15. I built power around the top right of the map, two drones to beat down creeper where it's thickest and a blaster to clear some more space on the right side of the map. Suspect that you might be able to clear the center plateau with a few blasters and build/connect from there faster, but it looks tricky. Could be worse, at least they don't lob spores at you :)

I really like CW but it is just too easy. My normal strategy is to attack and "cap" each emitter, then move to the next. So as it gets weaker, I am getting stronger. If I can survive the first 5 minutes, the rest of the game is just easy cleanup. It would be cool if an emitter could detect being "capped" and then reallocate its creeper to the other emitters. So with 5 emitters emitting "100" creeper each (500 total), cap one the other 4 now emit 125 (still 500 total), 3 emit 166 each (500 total), 2 emit 250 each, and the last one emits all 500 alone. That way the creeper stays strong until the end and that final emitter seems like an accomplishment more then the easiest part of the game.

@GreatManBear: stay on the heights on which you start. Go all the way to the emitter on the south-east. Build a few blasters to deactivate it (2 or 3 will be enough). Use a mortar or a drone to prevent the creeper from rising too high. Once this is done, you want to go across the creeper directly south of Odin City with a relay (use bombardments and blasters to secure the second relay site). From there, slowly go up the hill until you can deactivate the emitters. Eventually, all emitters will be deactivated, leaving you free to finish the job.

This is one of my favorite games. Really awesome because it expands on the desktop version FOREVER. Plus, there's the awesome survival mode button which makes the nexuses go on roids. A fun game for everyone! :D

@Daemonwolf You've reached the maximum output capacity of the city. The Deficit bar measures the "starvation" of the weapons/structures, not the completion/depletion ratio. It goes up every time you cant deliver enough packets to the structures. You can countermeasure that by spacing better the weapons on the front line but, nonetheless, it's still a major problem after 100 or 120 minutes.

I noticed a bug: when I get deep into Survival Mode, my Collection is always sufficiently higher than my Depletion, and even though my Energy is almost completely full, I still manage to rack up a serious Deficit, which hinders my weapon's ability to fire quickly at the Creeper. What is causing this?

preparing for survival mode - half screen cowered with cannons and the other one with reactors - switching on survival mode - realising that the creeper kan even come away from their source if you have as little as 4 basic canons near it.... Survival should be a lot harder! :P

Idea:
factories that make the packets as well as odin city, that feed off the power network it is connected to. this would make it so that a cell could be set up that is not connected to odin city but still can produce and expand. please thumbs up so that the big man in charge gets to see this, I just want to see a bigger and better CW empire.

A cool feature for the next iteration of this would be when you finish a level, you could re-watch the history of your game at 10x the original speed. You'd be able to see how you build up from nothing to a sprawling network.
