One little mistake in a shadowbuild and its all over. I moved a blaster 1 square to the right and boom. Creeper pushes you back all the way :(.

Also, a well placed blaster with range upgrade can cap more than one well. Very handy for self imposed challenges. There is some limitation based on terrain, but for example, you can cap all 5 wells on 3/15 with 4 blasters.

Some tips: Don't overbuild, if you build ahead, snake it so you only have 1 link active. Add links as your energy increases. Go back after and add links to streamline packet delivery. Use relays to create packet highways in conjunction with speed boosts. Adding relays after gives redundancy in case a SAM doesn't catch and aerial creep. Focus on only reactors/collectors until absolutely necessary. Wait on SAMs until 2 minutes left on warning, 3 minutes if you've had to build turrets. Give mortars DEEP targets. Positioned well, 2 mortars can completely hold back the creep. Destroy in detail - with 6 blasters, it's easier to cap the wells with 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2 blasters successively than it is to try to push back all 5 with 6 blasters at once. The longer the delay on the SAM warning, the more creeper bombs there will be. If it's over 7 minutes, you're going to need a lot of SAMs.

Love how the spore timer starts flashing AFTER it's too late for you to build SAMs, so if you forgot, all you can do is fffffff.....

If you think it's too easy, set personal challenges. I play where I'm not allowed to move the base and I'm not allowed to use collectors. Suddenly it's hard again!

I did March 10 in the center. You have plenty of time to build a blaster to keep the shelf clear, just don't let it fire continuously. Relay (yuck) to the left, cap. Bridge right side if your cheap, but you'll have enough power by then to brute force.

I love that you can still function with a massive deficit, but that if you try to fast to reduce it, you run out of energy and get overwhelmed

If only someone had he capability... of doing something great...enabling us to use the creeper... against our own kind! HAHAHAHAHA!

After noticing that some of you consider not having drones and holding back on reactors until you are sure you need them the "Shadowbuild challenge", I feel I should offer a set of rules that should offer an actual challenge. 1. No Drones and No reactors at all. 2. No pause button for strategic purposes. 3. Maximum of 6 blasters and 3 mortars at any point no limit on SAMs (bonus points for fewer mortars/blasters). 4. You must contain all creep to their nodes before completing the level (there are levels that require some wiggle room). 5. no moving the city. (I've encountered one or two levels that this last rule makes impossible, so good luck).

If i could change one thing I think it would be scale, while a great and addictive game it would be nice to have larger maps prehaps 2/3 times as wide or high that u scroll around. Love this game tho...still playing it every few days even tho its what 2 years since the first one was released

@manicalpizzadude: try to stay on a map for more than one hour. (or read the description of the game to find out what will happen. Hint: S....... M...)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
What I don't get is why can't the city just stay where it is? If you can design a defense that can keep going forever, couldn't you just stay there? Why would you need to keep jumping about?

That comes a time when the game starts to fell ... easy, and a little repetitive. And then I start to hold back a little, like, 2 or 3 min. without doing anything, just seeing the creep. Sometimes, 5, 10 min. with nothing, when the map allows. Well, at least this is something new, and increase the clallenge, more creep at the start and less time to complete. Is it just me that do this?

Fl4shback, I know. I just don't want to purchase it and the demo is limited. I want something like creeper world 2: evermore to keep my creeper world 2 appetite happy.

For the Shadowbuild challenge, remember you can use Mortars like Drones by moving them quickly around in the creeper between shots. They'll fire as soon as they land each time until they're out of ammo. My best time is 19:50 with no SAMs, I think it could have been quicker but I misplaced a collector and lost a connection when I advanced my mortar and lost two minutes getting the leak under control.

shadowbuild's challenge accepted. Beat it in under half an hour with just mortars, blasters, and collectors. On fast speed. I moved Odin city to the frontlines for faster resupply around the 20 minute mark. Can I have a cookie please?

shadowbuild's March 4 challenge: Completed in 51:04, all emitters capped, no Storage, Speed, Reactor, or Drone at any time.
Would've been a lot faster if I had pushed north earlier, so I could take advantage of the huge basin it would unlock, but anyway.
My strategy: IMMEDIATELY push for the upgrade point, and put it in RANGE.
Then, push east to the high ground as fast as you can, and get a mortar set up on the eastern edge of it. The range upgrade will allow it to bomb one of the basins, and it can be put south for some quick bombing of the southern basin, allowing pushes forward and disposing of a lot of creeper. A single mortar covers the large northwest basin and is powered down most of the time, powered up when the creeper gets deep to make it stay back.

An00bis. There is a difference between you and the creep. YOU have the ability to plan a strategy, the creep don't...

Having seen Shadowbuild's self-imposed challenge for March 4th, thought I'd try it - No Reactors, Storage, Relays, Speed or Drones. Decent challenge, took me three tries and thirty minutes to win, definitely recommend it whilst it lasts.

While self restricting with no drones at any time and no reactors for the first half hour I finally start to push after a few reactors are operational. I reach the northeast corner with less than ten minutes until survival automatically starts, and roughly stabilize it so I can try to cross the moat to the last rift totem. The creeper was producing faster than I could build and pushed me back across the moat. It's then I notice the northeast has broken and the creeper is retaking land, I look at the timer 59:00. The feeling of failure is momentary before I brute force a stable rift totem and then brute force a stable spot in the middle of the moat to secure the last rift totem... final time
59:59

XD. After almost winning (Dominating map) I wanted to try survival. I read comments and then made a wall of turrets around my base, good thing I did cause about 5 minutes later it suddenly went into survival mode.
Now after I lost 60% of my energy supply and got backed into spawn, I will make my last stand.

FYI for those who are unaware and want more maps: the games on here are just demos/teasers. I craved more so it cost me all of $15 for both CW1 and CW2. They both have long campaigns, random map generators, and map editors, and there are a huge number of cool fan-made maps out there.

Yah, I like to end a mission just before the spores land and cut ammo as close as possible. Get as much wiped out after you split as possible.

*looking on the hgh scores in logest time mission* Hmm, not to hard. I just let my computer on for 3 hours and i'll be first today. *looking in game after 1 hour* What? Survival mode? *creeper is destroing everything*

Found a glitch in survival.. when an emitter takes direct hits from a blaster, it becomes suppressed. It even says in tutorial, that "once you can have a blaster firing directly on emitter, all other weapons are not needed anymore." So you can survive forever.

drogon091: There are hotkeys in this game: 1 through 9 for units, x to delete the selected unit, and spacebar to cancel.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I would actually like to see more hotkeys in this game: [1,2,3,4,5] for production units; [Q,W,E,R] for attack units; spacebar for cancel. Not sure if [T] should be the city but your normally not clicking on it every few minutes or seconds so it's not really necessary.

*Sigh* I wish I would have payed attention to what survival mode was...
I almost got to the last totem and then the Creeper came at me with a vengeance.
I lost everything within 30 seconds...
