I got that Oct 29 time down to 3:48. As it turns out, the reactor is unnecessary, and the main determining factor in minimizing time seems to be how fast you can build the mortar. Start building it right next to Odin City right after the first few collectors are built, and move it to the easternmost tip of the island after it is assembled and before it starts firing.

Finished Oct 29 in 4:22. Move Odin City to the island close to the creeper, cover it with green ASAP (totem #1), then put a mortar on the easternmost tip and build a reactor. Also, build an (unconnected) relay in the middle of the smaller island to the north, and two collectors to (eventually) cover the island in green and connect to totem #2. When the mortar starts to rock the creeper, build a relay that connects to the relay on the small island. Your single mortar will soon make the creeper retreat enough north of the small island to allow you to build a single-collector bridge to totem #3. QED

I don't understand this game. Why is my deficit 80 when i gain 10.1 and deplete 10.0? And why does my network work on 100 deficit?

a suggestion! allow a slider to change the rate of increase for emitters!
For those who want laser shows(due to blaster spam, who doesn't love laser shows?)
For those who want to see destruction!(due to massive creeper spawnage! Some men(and women[if you're a boy or a girl, better go see a shrink!]) just want to watch the world burn)

I have an unhealthy obsession with creating a stable network that can suppress creepers at high emitter counts, then sabotaging the network and watching it slowly fail.

Please add extra challenge for the regulars!! For example, placing emitters all around / banning reactors on some leveles / more extreme landscapes / etc. Other than that, great game!

142 emitters detected. We're continuing to hold the line. This horribly named 'Wall of doom'. Obviously the higher ups haven't learnt from the Maginot line.
192 emitters. Line is still holding. What? the higher ups are chickening out? They have ordered the powering of the totems? Bollocks, we're doing fine here!

love this game and i like to take my time on the map just so i can watch the turrets fire at the the creeper so again i have managed to use up an hour

I don't have a picture: I moved the base to the center island and aggressively spread east with collectors, turned off totem power, used the totem to spread to the south east 'continent', filled it with collectors. Along the way, built a mortar for the island in the NW corner and a baster by the south east totem.

@EvilGeek Fri28 I got a 13:35 time first play ( you might consider moving the base) or if you're good at micro management you you start putting collectors down to the right of the base and put a blaster up to protect your supply line(after you have at least reached the first totem) and make sure to bring a mortar for the pool the farthest totem is in ( if you go right you should be just in range with an upgrade to blast away at that before you are overrun) and don't forget sam's

Fri28 I got it down to 15:03 by filling my first island with reactors before building any weapons. I'm not sure how it can be done much faster then maybe 12:00.

What is a good strategy for Fri28? The fastest I can get it done (all creeper destroyed before exit) is 17:08 which seems slow.

@mara alas, alas, the old ones lost the knowledge of how to create that particular material in a most unfortunate "accident" shortly after creating the rift totems. An accident engineered by the styglek (spelling?) consortium, as it would turn out.
No, no, the styglek aren't the villains in and of themselves, they just have this nasty habit of building creeper nexi to reestablish contact with the loki.
well, they used to, untill they realized that every time they did so, the acting admiral authorized the use of dark beams, and the loki didn't want humans "ascending" into the same plane+dimension combination.
so the styglek quit building stuff that was immune to nullifiers. Of course, nullifiers are creeper world 2 and beyond.

jtfang: Eventually, battle with the creeper will result in a loss. After 60 minutes the creeper growth rate begins to increase with no limit. So the goal is to evacuate the city before it gets overrun. All buildings are sacrificial to that end.
