gurutex, you can get an idea for optimal strategies from these contests: http://knucklecracker.com/forums/index.php?topic=4621.0 Generally, the less creeper you have to fight to hit all the totems, the better time you'll get (and less time means more creeper made, etc...)

It would be nice to see the time of other players to get an idea of how fast you can beat a mission. May be a top 10 list?

@rich: The output is capped at 32; having a higher production rate will not do any good. And you don't destroy the emitters; you can cap them off (having a blaster close enough to keep it from spewing forth), but you can't destroy them. You probably already know this, but in case you don't, you beat a level by connecting to the totems. If you want to destroy emitters, try the Creeper World 2: Academy game.

Why can't odin city emit more packets? It doesn't seem able to use more than 32.00 units of energy at a given time, even if i am producing 39.00. please fix this.

@ugahgithurts thanks never thought of using a blaster as a bridge between the odin and the rest of the stuff.

tav17, it's trivial. Turn off ammo and totem packers. You get 2 powerups, -10% costs and +10% power (which are usually the best bets anyway). There's not too many ways to bridge, trial and error there, I used a blaster because I have horrible luck with SAMs :) http://i.imgur.com/PNTmGbI.jpg

I wish the character that Ellen Page is portraying was not born with a gift. I don't mind ads on Kong, but please a little more variety.

Took me 30 seconds longer for the 12th, 1:50. If they really follow Chronon, there's some more tough ones coming up (best times are around 1:30 for today's).

@leagion616, did you read the part about "procedural mission generator" in the instructions. The game itself creates a map every day.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
LOL, WBW?? do you update this game, on your own?? like my question is, do you personaly put up a new map to come out every day?? or couple days??? Ive noticed something and I'm trying to c in im right TY.

its kinda funny...i have 540 max storage, full storage, 38 energy production, 32.1 useage...yet im STILL gaining deficit...do i just have too many turrets making too much demand on odin city?

9/10 Build mortars and collectors. That's it, you'll keep the creeeper under controll and beat it in less than 10:00.

joeboats: When attempting a quick victory, capping emitters is not part of the solution. There is certainly nothing wrong with capping (I do it often). To achieve a 1:27 (best I could get) on October 9, Odin was moved once to a position in-between the 2 far totems but close to the center. Turn off the green nodule on Odin and build the least amount of collectors that connects all 3 totems. This can all be done during the initial pause. Then run the game. When you have an energy surplus, turn on the green node to activate the totems, but if your energy goes negative turn off the green node again. Once all collectors are built, make sure the Odin green node is on. Good luck.

i could hit 2:09 (i usually go for total domination of board, so I don't know all the tricks). How do you shave it down to under 1:30? Is this all about the pause button? Or lots of movement of Odin?

I was thinking about 10/6....
If the game had some kind of hall of fame for the most badass scenarios?
The players can vote in the scenarios, like the comments, or the game can automaticaly rank the scenarios upon the time average
I know that this will be hard, or a lot of work, but will add some more challenge to the game
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@MichaelChandra @gurutex I wouldn't have thought it very possible (after my first play on my own before reading comments), but 10/6 without moving Odin City is a good challenge too. Took me just over 18 minutes though. That's one where you actually get angry at the creeper, and just want to beat the piss out of it at the end rather than power up the totems ;-)

10/06 : build 2 blaster, then head north-east. Deactivate one blaster when higher creeper source is under control, one mortar to keep the rest calm, then it's time to reclaim.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
10/6, tucked Odin in the upper left cove with two blasters guarding the low ground. Then collectors and one mortar on the mid-ground. Turned on the mortar for two shots at a time just to keep the creeper down from the choke-point. Then throttled between building reactors and maintaining blasters. Took about 35 min to cap the wells and cover the map, but I prefer slogging it out with the creeper!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
10/6, Not necessarily faster or better, but I found that if you build north to collect the 2 powerups, you can make do with 4 blasters (I had one on upper left high ground, one on lower left high ground, 2 at the bottleneck to protect Odin) and 2 mortars (upper left high ground, lower left high ground). I did get into some power debt, but once creep is stemmed, you can build some reactors and a drone, it's the usual slow movement to cap the emitters.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I don't think spores would up the challenge much. Once you make the early jump to high ground and get a mortar or two going it's not too hard to juggle power between mortars and build to be prepared for the aerial assault -- SAMs are pretty cheap and there isn't much area to cover. I guess if the attacks came every 3 minutes with 6 or so spores it could take some careful attention.

Nice work, Aronbon. I wasted a bit of energy/time trying to build a mortar to fly in with the blasters, had to leave it unfinished to the creeper. Also, lost a couple of minutes when I let the upper left emitter get out of control and take out the collectors I was building up left of it. Rookie mistake. I do think grabbing 2 or 3 of the left side powerups to start is useful as it can be done to allow Odin a full energy complement when it jumps as well as the upgrades. Just makes the game quicker after that. On another note, I play to cap and eradicate all creeper on the map before jumping out, I'm sure I'm not the only one...
