It's a lot of ground to cover and not much energy to do it with if you want less time. *Seems* possible, but also seems too frustrating to figure out how and if possible :)

chilese: You can still use a blaster, as long as you turn off ammo packets (click the red circle on Odin). It'll take 4-5 seconds longer, but you won't need to keep hovering the turret.

Okay, I got it down to 1:36 by hovering the SAM base. Looks like I need to deactivate it before it starts to charge. That's a fine line.

hawk45: Are you hovering the SAM base without losing contact to the first 2 totems? I used a blaster and landed it in the creeper. But then, I took 16 more seconds than you did. Nice.

@Chilese, I'm not a fan of wargames and this game is more about strategic playing and making fast and smart choices. Everyone is allowed to choose their own playing style, but every single map is beatable without moving your base. You should trust your OPs and Commander a bit more, they know what's best for their city.

Falsifica: There is certainly nothing "wrong" about not moving the base. That is your choice. Do realize, that the game is a direct comparison to war. Typically, the commanders take the high ground, out of harm's way. All weapons are used as the situation dictates. Sometimes a level can be won with no weapons, just by moving Odin and linking. The idea of going for the highest score goes to the idea of winning a war in the shortest amount of time, thus incurring the least injuries to your own troops. Personally, I do sometimes set up special rules as a contest within the game. For the record, I never build storage units and only build speed packs if the game is going to take over about 5 minutes. While I am not the best player at this game, I do fairly well most of the time to most of the truly excellent players. Please continue to play the game any way you desire. It is truly one of the best online games.

Falsifica...No. not for the casual player. there have been plenty of levels where not moving the base=expert only. There's even been a couple where not moving the base=impossible.
If a level is too easy, you can always try doing it without reactors.
there are levels where not moving your base makes for an expert-ONLY map.

Since i've been playing this for years everyday. I'm gonna give a little summary how to make it more awesome: for starters, don't play for the score. NEVER MOVE YOUR BASE, this easily decides wether a level's hard or easy. When upgrades are within your space, there are just 2 upgrades really nice. This lineup: firerange/10%energy (depends on what's more needed at that moment) -> 15% firerate -> 10% less buildcost -> 30% movespeed, and finally, the 20% buildspeed. You don't need this since you can build speed packs. I usually build storage units until i hit 200/200. That's great when you make the final blow, you always have enough. Drones should only be there when you really need it, and never more than one. Since it's way to easy. The final hint: it has been said already. When you get your warp: pause your game, put the red circle off, put survival on and destroy your speed packs, it's an awesome way to end your game.

I like to fully build out a level, then destroy the SAMs and see how many spore attacks I can withstand and still have functional creeper suppression. The Power of the Net. But I'm weird that way.

@tofoomeister, thanks for the tip. I went back and reduced my time for 11/15 to 2:00, using only a single blaster and a single upgrade.

11/15 = 3:39. Move Odin City to the SW corner of the peninsula, collectors to the three upgrades, two drones on the plateau on the peninsula, two relays west after the drone attacks, a single blaster to hold back the northernmost totem

At the one-hour mark, the game automatically transitions to survival mode, during which the rate at which creeper is produced increases significantly (and continues to increase as time continues).

....-builds up a massive defence and then sits behind it for an hour. at the hour mark, the ammount of creeper on the map started growing faster than it could be destroyed-.....whoops!

We definitely need a place were we can upload (and compare) our results. If we could also upload images of our network and add notes, we could learn a lot of strategy from each other.

I really like the Mortar challenge: Do not move Odin City and do not build Blasters. I also refuse to lose anything, either by self-destruction or Creeper. November 3 to 5 have been a nice challenge with this restriction.

I would super love if the Drones would remember where they were supposed to go, without me having to tell them every single time ...

hawk45: Sadly, my best time is in the 11+ minute category and I can't begin to figure out how you got anything less than 7 or 8 minutes. Could you post a pic for the many of us who are unable to figure this one out?
