*SPOILER*
At the end of the game, the dore bell reminds me of funeral procession, and I thought that maybe the person Pete was talking to, who said they were to see him soon, was dead already and was waiting for him.

@Firejakz: Imagine you were reading a somewhat normal book. does a book, lets say in this case some more philosophical one. leave any choices or interactive sideways to you except for simply turning the page and continue reading? Keep in mind that not every game is just meant to be played. there are so many games out there which dont possess a story but rather more action. why shouldnt there be games in which there is more or less no real action, but a deep story you have to think through instead of "jump n run" through. the jumping passages are (at least most of them) more or less unimportant to the game's deeper meaning.

I wanna' know why people think this game is so great... I mean, graphics are good and all, but the game literally takes no thought lest you decide to be foolish and contemplate the hurried and pretentiously unfathomable meaning of it. Back to my main point though, the game is just walking back and forth, so therefor it was more of an interactive movie than a game. I might be missing something deeply philosophic here, but I doubt it.

Trickymist, I think ill throw you in with the other catogory of people that think games are all about graphics too. Without a beutiful story and plot, or great music, or something that touchs you and makes you relate. The game is not a game. A game lives in entropy, maybe some day you'll figure it out. This game is amazing for the obvious reasons, it makes you think and feel as though you were in the same situation, but not quite.

Great game. goes to show that some games are games for game play, and some games are games for art.
i actually play the game, and leave ymself in redwind field for awesome background music

Well, I give this game a 3/5. Story is a force multiplier, not a force. The gameplay was at best, shitty. And the story wasn't even that good. But, the music was good. My last comment is that games should be centered around GAMEPLAY, not story and music, although they are factors, they are not deciding factors.

so, here then is my list so far:
The Company of Myself,
Gateway I+II,
Coma,
Immortal,
Never Look Back.
and maybe:
How to Raise a Dragon,
Anika's Odyssey,
Little Wheel,
The Majesty of Colors,
as well as almost any zombie survival game. but that might not be exactly it.
and that's just on Kongregate.
there are a whole lot more out there, but heck, find them yourself. JayIsGames.com is a good site for games sorta like this btw.

I'm not quite sure if I "got" any of the game. When you start off your in some large house all by yourself and you think that that is gonna be pretty much it. You, all alone. But more and more characters show up that just don't make any sense. I would like to say that it makes you think, but it doesn't, because there is no message, atleast not that I am recieving. I never saved my sister, and I dont know if you could. At the end I was just jumping around and hitting the ceiling until something opened. And on top of that, you don't know if he dies or wakes up. I would rate this higher but the load and all the build up just wasn't worth it. I must be missing something that everyone else is getting, but 2/5

Interesting. Haunting. Excellent graphics. The music was all right. The story was far too short and the puzzles were far too easy. I can't imagine (with any degree of accuracy) how long this game took to build but I would suggest keeping the next one in development a bit longer and give that story time to develop.

Interesting game, to say the least... It was well done ultimately, but I feel like the plot and message were weak. It leaves you to make your own ideas, but it seems to me the author leaves you with conflicting, small pieces of information about his world, with no general underlying direction, except that you're in a coma... 4/5

Coma was a great game. The music, the animation, and the background were all amazing. The ending was a bit disapointing for me; and you really could have done so much more wih the storyline. I think it deserves a sequal.

I really love the game, but is it supposed to mean something, cause he's obviously in a coma (hence title). I have seen alot of artsy games like this, but this one...wow... Thats all I got to say for now, except you really are witty hobos.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@psychknight, I agreee with you on that. There should be a section for such games as this and "The Company of Myself", perhaps the name of the category could be "Allegory". I love these intellectual games.
