I'm sorry, I like mobs spawning over me as much as the next guy... which is to say, not at all.
The least you could do is have some sort of visual right before they spawn so we know to move out of the way.

great game, i was attempting to create something very similar but dont know enough actionscript to code AI to do anything but follow you OR move randomly around the screen while shooting at you

Very fun game, nice and action packed
and to those who claim you cannot last 3 minutes, its because the game was meant to be hard. Suck it up and play another game.

you cant last longer then 3 mins in this game =/ is there even a end of game storyline here thats specila or something ???
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
too much shit on screen for the amount of firepower you can put out. its impossible to hold them back after about 3 minutes

enemies spawn too close, and upgrading your gun doesnt help against the ones with sheilds, or didnt you get that far aierce?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It's a cool mechanism, having them spawn all around you. But it turns the game from "Can you dodge?" to "Can you predict and get lucky enough to not be hit by random enemies as you take care of business?" The latter can be very unfun. 3.7/5

Pretty good. The enemies spawn way to close. It would be nice to have a short invincibility if you are hit. Also, while Geometry Wars may be one of my favorite Xbox games, this is an inexcusable rip off. Lots of nice features, but zero attempt to try and make it not look like GW. Still 5/5

you guys thats the point of a game is to make it hard/ challenging so screw off. u guys try and make a game like this!......
bet u couldnt make a better one

Complete ripoff of colorwars from blitwise.com. and much much worse gameplay.
the spawns are terrible.
the energy price is retarded.
more frustrating than fun.
1/10

Am I understanding the upgrade system correctly... you can raise your bullet speed, but when you raise your gun your speed bonus goes away and you have to pay more cash to get it back....?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
how to solve the spawn problem:
shoot in the direction ur moving!
gets the weapon upgrades first so you can shoot in more directions (therefore move in more directions)

I crash into enemies too often. I think you could either reduce player speed (so you don't move more than 200 pixels or whatever so quickly) or make the enemies spawn further away

And one more thing: There's no mercy invulnerability, coupled with a bright flash upon getting hit. This means one hit often leads to another, which leads to yet another...

I see two major problems: First, spawn location. Enemies spawn with minimal warning in completely arbitrary locations, making it far too easy to crash into something simply because you had the bad luck to have it spawn in your path. Secondly, far too many enemies are white with a black interior, which makes them hard to see, in addition to getting them mixed up with your own ship and helpers. If I'm going to get hit, I'd prefer it was my own fault, not the fault of poor design and a pseudorandom number generator with no sanity check.

my three problems with this game 1) is the enemies that spawn on top of you 2) the increasing price for you to heal (should stay constant) and 3) there needs to be a time after you get hit that you are invincible, cause you can just instantly die if you get surrounded. 3/5 it would be a 5/5 tho

I suggest doubling the spawn range or make some kind of warning for spawning ships. You should also make the money (pips?) less colorful, they clog up the screen and you cant see the enemies. And last but not least, make the health price not so drastic.

Yes, there is aproblem with spawn location. The spawn locations move around with the player and it gets very annoying.

Not bad, but Zunderfury it ain't. The graphics are great, and it's fun to have stuff to collect, but that's about it. A few small beefs:
1) Why bother having scrolling and a radar when the entire play area is less than four times the size of the screen? Why not just make everything smaller and make it a single-screener, so you can always see everything?
2) Enemies should look like enemies and bullets should look like bullets. You shouldn't have to use trial and error to figure out that the big stars are destructable but the small ones aren't.
3) Even if the enemies don't actually spawn on top of you, the effect is the same because they appear instantly. Even though Zunderfury's enemies can spawn directly on you, it's actually much fairer because you can see where it's going to happen and get out of the way. I hate to keep going back to Zunderfury, but it's really the best game of this type on the web, imho. This game is worth 3/5.

1. I dont like how the screen follows you, I think it would be better if it didnt
2. Enemys are hard and very cheap
3. Need more upgrades
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Would be nice if there were some sort of warning system so that you didn't end up right in the middle of a huge cluster of baddies.
That said, otherwise an awesome game. 4/5

I think the main reason you're getting a lot of complaints about enemies spawing on top of the player has to do with location. In Geometry Wars, enemies only spawned in the corners for the most part; thus, avoiding the corners meant you were almost garenteed not to crash into a spawn. Here, where they can spawn anywhere, this becomes the major threat; not fending off enemy's unique powers, but simply trying not to run into them after they appear. Once the spawn rate ramps up, the player tends to get boxed in by spawns very quickly.

lol good thing they dont shoot back i give it a 4\5 cause after a while it was still fun because t was more reflexes in the quick spawning ones but the ones where they horde up into piles are just annoying
