beat Apocalypse using 4 ions at the beginning with 5 bunkers at the front..upgrade ions till 2 were level 3 and 2 were level 2 ..then started with the econmy upgrade...and so on..easy ones you figure how to do it..

even on the new version, on apocalypse, get about 4-5 turrets, and get 2 of them to level 2 before you do anything else. Upgraded turrets are much more efficient than adding 10-12 turrets. Get nukes after you have at least 2 level 3 turrets.

im proud to announce, my "firepower over protection" startegy still works for 1.14
3500 ppl, 70k money, not loosing a single building, enemy waves hardly enter the screen, but almost all slots are "misseled" up in the end. also the cruicial parts in the beginning did not change.

tlerner wasn't kidding, you can actually beat apocalypse without researching or using nukes at all. Pretty tough though.

Damn, the difficulty went through the roof with the new update. Apocalypse was incredibly difficult before, but it's been impossible since V 1.14 came out.

Sometimes submitting my score doesn't work. The little twirling arrow in the corner doesn't appear and I don't get a window. Since I just scored my highest population ever, this is a little bit of a let down.

And a level counter or something. It just seems to go on forever.

I can't play it. It loads the menu but once I chose the dificulty level, a black screen apears and the game doesn't finish loading.

rofl I filled every square with missile complexes (except for 2 missile defences) and nothing got more than a centimetre from the top of the screen.

great game but the only thing that keep me enterained the last half of the game were those missles. nothing like watching 90 missles firing nonstop, flying around making random patterns is space. :D

Thanks molicious13... that was exactly the strategy that (almost) worked for me! But holy ¢%@& that gets tough at the end. Underestimated just how much firepower I was going to need. Ouch!

Hey JazzedUp, try starting with three canons and one bunker behind them. To keep the guns from getting blown up, you have to upgrade them one at a time instead of focusing on one. There is an element of luck involved, but make sure to sell guns if they're about to be destroyed so you save a little of the money. It's easy once you get the rhythm down. Get the planetary shield thing as soon as you can or you'll get killed past the halfway mark.

Argh! Apocolypse is driving me mad. I can't get any bloody gun to level 3 as they keep getting blown up... Any tips on how to start folks?

after a while build options are gone...
I'd suggest either upgrading the tech tree, or allowing building on "space platforms" ie add more squares for a cost.

4.6 billion pop, $195 trillion in the bank on "hard"... and yet I still can't figure out a strategy to get past the first 30 waves or so on apocalypse. *sheesh*

Yay! Just beat Hard, Phyra - thanks, your strategy works as well for Hard as it does for Normal, starting with 2 Ion cannons and just 3 bunkers. 5/5 for a great game!

Engaging and interesting. That's a rare thing here. However, it's still relatively simple. While it's good in some ways to keep some things somewhat simple, I believe this is a bit much. It would be better with more options, more complications. 4/5.

I've already rated this game a 4/5, but I feel that I must speak more on the matter. This is very clever, the win condition (surviving waves) is the same as the monetary gain, a new concept among tower defence games as far as I can understand. Not only do you gain less with every hit you take, but you also have fewer resources for every building you construct and upgrade. This adds a whole new element to TD, but still remains balanced. Great game, and I hope this sets the new standard for TD games, or at least contributes in some way.

Very clean, very polished. Smooth gameplay. Graphics effects are subtle but very well done. Perhaps some balance issues but still 5/5.

XP Fun game.. kind of awesome to watch the screen sweeped in missles. 4000M pop. and 60B at the end of apocolypse..cool lazer on the last boss XP. 1500M pop. and 40B left on a apoc. without missles. 5/5 =D

the key is not so much in the bunkers but in building less an upgrading more (as has been said by Quazar) for apocalypse even: build one ion cannon in the middle. upgrade it. build a bunker behind it. build a cannon to the right with on square empty. build a cannon to the left. upgrade one of those one level. upgrade build a bunker behind it. of the two already upgraded cannons: upgrade the cannon with the least damage another level. upgrade the other....... try the rest for yourself :)

Very nice. We want MORE! --> more research, maybe branching upgrades....
Here is the guide to normal: build 2 ion cannons in the front row left and right of the middle square. upgrade one of them. build 4 bunkers: one behind each cannon and the other two left and right of those bunkers with one square empty between them. upgrade ion cannon 2. Research advanced economics. Upgrade both ion cannons another level. Research Nuclear Fission. Save money until it is done. Build a missile complex in the front row, middle square. Upgrade it two times. Build 3 economic centers in the bottom row. Build 2 more missile complexes in the front row. upgrade them 1x only. Build another 4 economic centers in the bottom row. upgrade the missile centers another level. now upgrade all of the economic centers. From here you have by far outgunned and out-incomed (;)) the NME. Do whatever you like....
