Description

This is my first venture into the Flash programming scene, a simple skill game inspired by music rhythm games such as Dance Dance Revolution (and its flash counterpart FlashFlashRevolution) and Guitar Hero.

Defend your base of Receptors by intercepting the incoming wave of evil electric Semicircles. As you successfully defend your base more intense waves of Semicircles will await your challenge.

This game had more of a purpose introducing me to the world of Flash programming, but if anyone out there happens to enjoy it, then it's a great bonus. I'm keen to hear any constructive feedback as I plan to further expand this into a more complex musical rhythm game in the future.

How to Play

NOTICE: If you experience lag while playing, try lowering the quality in the options and/or switching away from the chat tab when playing a wave. Cheers! Let me know if you experience any strange behaviour with the game.

As the Semicircles approach your base, intercept them as they line up with your Receptor circles by pressing the corresponding key of that Receptor circle. You will lose health if you fail to intercept a semicircle or mistakenly trigger a Receptor.

Default keys are A, S, K, L for the Receptor triggers and ESC to abort the current wave. These can be changed to any alphanumerical, arrow or NumPad key within the options.

I would like to play through the waves of this game, and I'm sure as a player I am capable of doing more than just the first two waves, but random 1/8 second lag spurts throw me off. My computer is fast enough that I am always surprised at lag from any flash game.. The graphics on this game do not seem to be anything special (though they are smooth), so I do not understand why I am experiencing lag here.

Also, I do not think the player should be penalized twice if they press too early. As it is now, there is a penalty for pressing, and another penalty for missing the semicircle.

Not a completely bad game, though lack of music or any basic beat makes it somewhat difficult. For now, I'll give it a 3/5, but lemme know if you add music, because that'll definitely bump it to a 4 or maybe even 5. =]
