So why is it I can get the same unit as a reward for two different challenges? I got Nuke Fu twice but it doesn't seem to add anything, I can't place him twice and he didn't get any better. I'm just a bit confused
You can place 2 of the same unit in your army. I had 1 extra level and not enough units to hand out so I have 1 level with duplicate units. I duplicated the units I thought ppl would most like to have multiples of.

On Very Hard the game gets really frustrating in later levels, as winning a level only depends on how snails and stones (or gems) spawn
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The starting set of balls and position of the snails are very important for victory so, instead of having to restart untill having a promising field, could there be a "begin with another field" button ?

@developer: You asked me earlier what difficulty I was playing that I used grid cheese. A few hard levels needed it, and many of the very hard ones did. All past 6 needed some cheese to win, but the ones with the bandits and the ones with the limited party (undies/boxers or just undies, even if super) were the most severe (levels 6-10) . The bandits because their speed makes them ludicrously powerful with overcharge 4 (they're meant to not be very strong outside of their special conditions, in return they get high speed, but with overcharge they're quite strong like everything else with overcharge but are still crazy fast), and the solo/duo missions because of the big difference in party size.
In all those mentioned I found it to be completely impossible to accomplish anything if the first 3 snails couldn't be mostly or completely neutralized, because otherwise they'll get their first turns before you can wipe some of them out and they will devastate your party.

Pretty fun cute matching game. Stunning snails/planning ahead to stun them is hugely important. Think a specialized team has an edge on a rainbow team, but havent sufficiently tested it for certainty. Good job, dev

beating level 9 on hard mode seems more like pot luck then actual strategy. I have no idea how extra hard mode would work on the level. It feels like no matter what I do, I can't improve my chances. That feeling is what keeps this game from getting a 5 from me.
I just uploaded version 1.04 which tones down the v.hard difficulty. It will help relieve the rng luck feeling that mission 9 has (and a couple of others)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
crap, I meant v.hard previously! hard was suprisingly not that hard:) so - as for me - the 6th and 9th lvl on very hard were much harder than the others and I got somewhat lucky that I've beaten those two, rest of the levels seems perfectly fine on very hard:)

For some reason, whenever I make a yellow match on the first level, it "freezes" the game. The game is still running and the graphics still moving, but I can't click on any matches and what not and it says it's my turn. The girl never attacks either, just sits there... (From Kong on FF if that helps...)
Thanks for the report. I wasn't able to reproduce this, though. Do you have more info you can give? Other colors work fine, it's just yellow? What if you make some other matches first and then yellow? Do the orbs pop and charge Esther and then it freezes before she can attack? If you can answer these it'll help me track down the problem easier

i've beaten all the levels on hard mode, if the imput is important:
- 6th level is a bit too hard I guess on hard mode:) I got kinda lucky to get past this stage in comparison to others, 9th also wasn't a piece of cake (I'm not saying it should be, but it was also the case of very lucky placement of colours to get past it)
- does Gauntlet ends at any moment? i guess not and it is just for HS, but info would be nice:)
- also thumbs up on upgrade idea and overcharge explanation
PS I love the idea!!!

Gameplay is good, love the characters and art the most. The music is just okay. All in all, I give this all stars. :) I look forward to a sequel! There better be a sequel.... ;D

Very good game no too esay not too hard except for some V. Hard levels in which you dont last 2 turns without a good grid right from the start. Especially in the Super Undies levels in which you get shreded way too fast : 4.5/5
Those definitely need to be addressed. I might tone down the charge bonus the enemies get on the harder difficulties to compensate for their incredible damage.

Tried to play, lots of random clicking, I don't get the point of the game. I have a feeling that the game is not explained because it's like "every other such game"

Great game!! Suggestion: when AUTO is turned off, there should be an automatic pause to attack before your turn is over. Attacks are delayed to the beginning of the next turn when AUTO is off.

Badly needs restart button instead of having to go back to level select, especially considering how badly you need to cheese your starting grid for various fights.
I purposely didn't include a restart button to discourage starting grid cheese. What difficulty are you playing on? Normal difficulty should be possible without any cheese so if there's a level you can't beat let me know and I can balance it better. There might be some cheese needed to beat V.Hard and I'm waiting for players to get that far and let me know so I can make it a little easier if necessary. I'd rather fix it that way

would be great if we could upgrade units to increase stats (like buying upgrades with points, combining units or sacrificing units to make others stronger)

Adobe has dropped support for Flash on Linux, so on Linux, the game will report software rendering even if the hardware is capable of doing accelerated rendering. Just FYI. Works fine so far on my system even with software rendering.
Glad to hear it's running well enough in software mode, I spent a good deal of time on performance. I can't circumvent Adobe when requesting hardware rendering which is disappointing when they blanket drop support for Linux and the hardware could probably run the game.

Love it, Not alot of complaints aside from if you turn off auto attack you don't have an opportunity to attack until the next turn where auto attacks immediately. Puts you at a bit of a disadvantage. 4.5 Stars!
Is the game cut off for you or is there just a lot of whitespace instead of the game growing to the window size? I can look into growing the game when zoomed to make it more readable if that's your problem but it might stretch out the graphics a little
Is your browser zoom set to less than 100%? Try clicking somewhere outside the flash game to give control back to the browser then press ctrl++ to move the zoom around (ctrl+- to unzoom the other way) or look at your browser's menu for a zoom option. Let me know if this helps or not
Your browser zoom might be set to less than 100%, try ctrl++ or check your browser's menu for a zoom option. Let me know if you still have problems after that

I don't know if anyone mentioned, but is there a way to delete a unit? If there is not, you could add it, then we wouldn't need to keep searching for some desirable unit
Like delete it from your library? There's no way to do that. You can delete units from your army by going to the army builder, selecting them, and hitting the X button by them. If you wanted to delete from the library I won't be adding support for that but if you tell me which unit it is and why it's lame I can try to balance it better

You have a gift for taking the concept in popular games and making them even better. Loved your take on the Advanced series. And bloody fun day is super fun hard with the planning involved.
I go over it in the design blog here http://puzzlefuzz.com/episode-2-design-blog/. tl;dr she needed a makeover that matched her importance in the story

OMG I am a bit embarrassed, for anyone else wondering, the left hand blue stat is not a pacifier...its a sword. I assume from this it is some kind of attack level stat. I gained this awesome knowledge by going back and playing puzzlefuzz one, btw. In case anyone else is as old and blind as I am.

Some sort of list of things the game has would be nice, like a menu option in the build your army screen. I just went back and took the tutorial after losing the gauntlet - which also does not mention how many you have to kill to win it - and there is no mention of overcharge or what the pacifier stat is. It would be nice to be able to have a quick reference list available in some way for this. And I still am curious what the pacifier stat is for.

During the tutorial, I kept wanting to follow the instructions without having to click "okay" first. Maybe you could set it so that an attempt to click the board would mean we understand the tutorial?
Also, totally love it that you're reading comments!

Something I noticed: even in modes above Easy, mission 1 has no green orbs. Is this intentional for lowering the difficulty, or is it an oversight? Because if it is an oversight, then green units are useless for mission 1.
Greens are removed to lower the difficulty in mission 1, yeah. You could remove your green units to beat it on the harder difficulties but there's only 4 enemies so you can probably get through anyway

Well, I was disappointed to find that the last Very Hard level didn't give me Undies :(
Yes, I did get OC 92 on him. Infinite loop with the last enemy since I OC faster than he can attack.

I think you should clearly explain how the Overcharge works somewhere. Currently the tutorial doesn't even mention it.

I'm kind of disappointed about how easy the Hard and Very Hard game modes on the early levels. I would of expected Level 1 Hard to be as hard if not a little bit harder than the End Level on Easy, with the same progression from End Level on Hard to First level on Very Hard. Maybe you could try replacing the difficulties Overcharge 2/4 with Rage 1/2. Though it does seem a rather solid game. Well done and hope to see more in the future.
I'm still tuning difficulty, here's the stuff I've been playing with. 1) snails spawn at a slightly faster pace; was 4-6 turns, now it's 3-5 turns. 2) enemy AI targets smarter; most units prefer to attack the front row 80% of the time. backstab etc units will get custom AI. 3) starting snails will go up over time and with difficulty. It's not really fun to start with >3 snails so for those later levels this means going from 2 starting snails to 3. 4) Enemy units will have a reduction in the # of charge they need compared to when you control those units. I'm testing now with a flat 30%. So a Spotted Firebug goes from 18 charge to 12. All these things in tandem will make matches more tense without compromising the existing fun gameplay. If I just went to 5 snails the game gets unfun and less strategic.

Apparently when everyone dies, the game doesn't know what to do. Which is exactly like real life.

I really enjoy this game! It's the cutest thing I've played in awhile, and it sounds great--though I'll admit that the music can get a bit repetitive after awhile. I ran into the snail bug initially, but after reloading the page I noticed that you only just changed the version, so maybe I caught it right before the change? I can't get it to happen anymore with 1.02b, so that's good!
I fixed the original snail bug which was a doozy and then I had a feeling there's a less common and more nefarious one still out there so I found that and fixed it too! oh, and you can mute the music from the options or pause menu
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
For the gauntlet it would be cool if you could pick what kind of enemies appear, how many appear, and what level of difficulty they have.
I just uploaded version 1.02b which fixes that bug. You can play the gauntlet now! (It's a little grindy, let me know if you have any ideas to make it more exciting)

Great game, love this type of game.
Sure, I think its short :) . More of everything and maybe upgrades and more strategic choices in next game would make me even more happy.

Honestly, I do like this game, its a bit laggy though so you may want to put a quality option, phone wise I think the scrolling will work great however I haven't tried it out so I can't really tell. I also think some of the harder levels aren't that hard so you may want to add a bit more of a challenge but overall I would give this a 8/10
The game needs hardware acceleration to run well, I'll add some checks when the game is loading to see if you're about to run it in software mode. Sometimes all it takes is updating your graphics card drivers or ticking a box in the flash player settings to get hardware acceleration working again.
