Very interesting. Some feedback: some sound effects and BGS might help.
Will there be a sequel with basic kanjis? That would be awesome.
Excellent suggestions. My prototype versions did have sound effects--katana slashes and clangs--but they didn't seem to fit in this version. I agree, though. Good sounds can be a dramatic improvement. Thank you for recommending a kanji upgrade. That gets me thinking about working on another game again. The trick is figuring out whether it will be an extension of this game or something exciting and new. I'm tending towards exciting and new. Hmmm.

This really help to learn japanese, nice work :D
Thank you. I'm happy that students are getting some use out of it. By the way, if you're studying kanji, I've found that "Remembering the Kanji 1" is really nice. You can try it here: http://nirc.nanzan-u.ac.jp/publications/miscPublications/pdf/RK4/RK%201_sample.pdf. It helps you familiarize yourself with dozens of kanji without worrying about kun or on readings just yet. I'm trying this approach in my own studies.
