Well, since the game doesn't save the progress, meaning you have to do the entire game over again if you make a mistake, there's no possibility of grinding. I get that you want to make a challenging game, but not everyone wants to play that. Make it grindable. The people who want a challenge can get one, and the people who don't want a challenge can avoid it.

I agree a save system makes a game more enjoyable. As of right now, I haven't been able to make a working save system so I tried making a game without one and this is what I came up with. I'm currently learning how to implement one so if my future games needs a save system, I'll be able to do it.

You don't need to use space as your fire key. On most keyboards, holding space disables the ability to press up and left at the same time. So that messes with your ability to control your ship. The alternative (WASD + space) is unwieldy for the player.

This is actually an interesting thing that I wasn't aware of. Thanks for letting me know.

I quite liked playing this game, only problems I found were the money dissappears too quickly. Also, upgrades are a bit over priced considering.
Other than that, it was enjoyable, easy to play/understand (took a while to figure out that right click equips your weapon) and bgm is funky

Gameplay balance is something I'm experimenting on right now. I'm glad you enjoyed the game though.

With the way the enemies cluster, the quickly disappearing coins, and not much of a coin magnet i cant pick up at least 1/2 of the coins... A simple coin magnet upgrade, having the coins disperse further upon death, or getting them to stay on the map longer before they vanish could all solve this issue.
