Descripción

My version of the classic retro arcade game: Robotron. Originally developed in AS1 and using vectors, this version now uses bitmap strip animations for the enemies, which makes it move at a decent speed even in a browser. You may recognise some of the bitmaps from my other game(s) but I'm more of a coder and less of an animator so this allowed me to get the game online quite quickly. Please let me know what you think!

Cómo jugar

W,A,S,D to move
Mouse to aim and shoot
Shift for rapid-fire

Each enemy exhibits different behaviour:

Zombies/Warriors home in, warriors always get there first!

Quarks (R-Type flyers) cover corners and shoot towards you (with some increasing accuracy and force)

Brains hunt and control humans, with no human to hunt, they hunt you.

Helis drop Tanks, which fire bouncing spore balls.

Hulks move randomly and act as moving roadblocks, but can be killed with weapons of more than 11 power.

Collect upgrades dropped from flyers: health, weapon, points and zappers.

Your personal shield will recharge over time - if you take damage with a depleted shield your gun will downgrade.. so pick up health when you need it!

Remaining pickups will disappear at the end of level so use them before the end.

Ok, it's "my version" and it has some differences. I didnt want to do a direct copy of Eugene Jarvis's classic, which I played religiously when I was [a lot] younger. To say it's not even close is a bit unfair considering the very similar ruleset.

shift for auto fire is very awkward. Just make holding the mouse button do that.
