jumping mechanics are way way off, sound is god awful, and having put up with the overly long annoying intro every time makes it unplayable

GOOD :: The Graphics are pretty good, good job on those By the way, and The story is a little weird, but I like it because there has been nothing like it, except in the first one.
BAD :: Yes like Lelouis said, it is hard to get the jumps to be timed correctly, and the music is Really repetitive and I recommend to use music you like instead, It gets really annoying.
So for me my rating is 3/5, keep trying and you'll get it right!
