A two-player hex-grid wargame based off of WWIIโs Battle of Stalingrad. Play as either the Nazis or Soviets and try to out play your opponents.
This game was made for a college class where students form into groups and create a game in 3 weeks that fit a theme. This rounds theme is whatever we wanted.

Player 1 plays as the Soviets, Player Two plays as the Nazis. Take turns selecting your units (keeping in mind some units counter your enemies, while others cannot even hit certain kinds of units, so plan wisely).
Once youโve spent all your money, you will be taken to the field where each of you will need to place your units on the correct side of the field. Nazis begin in the East, Soviets in the West.
Once all your units are placed, begin the game with Player 1 moving first. You may only move one Unit per turn, but you donโt select your unit until after you move it once.
When you select your unit to move, click on a green hex to move to it. The number on each hex represents how many more moves you have left, and the red hexes show your attack range.
Once your movement phas is over, your attack phase begins. Click on a read hex to shoot to that direction. Hitting an enemy will cause it to counterattack though, so keep that in mind.
Defeat all your opponents enemies to win!

You really made movement a lot like slow tooth extraction, without any anaesthetic. Needless to say, I didn't bother to see whether combat was any better.
Btw: Why is this 2 player?

Good music and (some) good art. For a 3-week project, I understand why there's no AI for single-player. The UI isn't bad - purchasing units is straightforward, although there doesn't seem to be an option to undo a previous purchase. Map scrolling and zooming work well. Unit placement and selection works well. The most frustrating aspect is alternating move orders - moving one unit one hex, then switching players is exceedingly tedious. I found that I could repeatedly move the same unit, so I tried moving just 2 opposing units into range so I could try combat. I ended up skipping movement phases so I could fire and it wasn't clear what was happening with the combat results.
Other problems: unit art for some units is completely wrong (e.g. Soviet planes). Firing and hit effects seem too cartoonish for this type of game. Too many typos!
