if this is truly meant to show what unity can do, why aren't there any lightning effects, "good" textures, complicated meshes instead of dull cubes...

Well, A few points of constructive criticism: 1) Accessing the shop at any time cancels out the current wave. I.E.: I never get hit. 2) the keyboard controls feel sluggish and inaccurate. Maybe switch it to mouse controls. 3) It's a bit bland. Maybe some colours or music to liven it up. 4) It didn't hold my interest very long. Maybe because it was bland, or maybe because it started to be repetitive after about three minutes, or maybe because of the awkward controls, it's hard to say why though. I think, most probable, is that there is no clearly defined goal, no "here's the finish line" mentality. Without a clear goal to shoot for, it loses purpose quickly. 5) Good luck, and keep at it.

So, the firewalls won't keep out the treats? You do know that 'treats' are good right? Treats=candy, or cupcakes, or cookies. Maybe you should ask the penguin god for a spell checker or a life.
