Badge Display

If we earn badges and all we get are e-peen points and a pretty graphic, shouldn’t we at least be able to move the pixels around on our profile? Have a display of favorite badges? And when are these point rewards coming?

Are the point rewards really necessary? I like the idea of being able to move badges around.

I think he means “Favorite badge out of the ones I’ve earned”.

Glompee, like I could do it off of badge that was most fun to get, badge with best graphic, badge that was most satisfying to get…

My guess is that it’s a matter of what you’d want other people see, and perhaps users want to be able to display the hard badges since they look more impressive than a large number of easy badges.

If I earned the impossible badges, I’d want them displayed on my profile over all the other easy/medium badges, right?

yep. maybe we could have a background of badges, or a shop where we can purchase decorations with our points.

Purchase decorations with our points…… that’d just make us de-level.

When the point shop was first discussed, and I believe the idea is still to be introduced at some point, we were informed that we’d actually have two point scores, the current one and the total one. Every time you’d earn points they would add to both but when you spent them they would only subtract from your current score, the total would be used to calculate levels. At least that’s what we were told at the time. And yes, I think the option to display chosen badges on your profile is a nice idea, I know a lot of people would prefer to show off their impossibles rather than the easies from the last batch.

I think this is a great idea. I have 2 imps that I am VERY proud of and the only time someone will see that I got it is if they suddenly decide to trawl through all 20 odd pages of my badges.

The coolest graphic had to be the hard badge for hanna in a choppa.

I would display all my 25 impossibles. :)

I would display the medium badge of Army of Destruction, since it’s harder than all of the impossibles I’ve achieved.

“whirled.com” has something like that. They give you “passports” and “awards” from which you can pick the ones you want to display up-front on your profile.

I think some names for the badges are neat and it would be an interesting idea to use badge names as a “headline” for your profile/username.
